Subject: [NT] World Cup Qualifying
Definitely time to start focusing on the attack now, that we are in the hole and need to start risking it
Lavrynenkos form was only low at the season start because of not playing (happens every season).
He was around brilliant in form the last ~5 weeks.
It has now gone down to outstanding again.
I will give him a few minutes of the friendly match which will hopefully give him a boost (+pace training).
I suggest trying to use a 2 striker lineup.
Especially with Lavrynenko on the field you will have good chances to score rebounds.
/edit
It worked as expected.
Lavs form is brilliant again (unearthly +5 pace)

well, that about sums up my whole season
2-1 lead in the final 10 minutes and the 'destroy.deja' subroutine kicks in and another loss goes in the books
at least this one is worth watching

what a great match of Canada, u were better than us, my tactic didnt came out as i wanted but at the end our players bring us the victory, good tactic mate sorry for the loss i hope u still can qualify...greetz from Mexico
Tactic was good.
Wyn was very dangerous, too bad their keeper saved some great shots.
Defenders had a good day as well.
Problem was in my opinion that you don't cover the wing position well enough.
Too bad Wyn missed the second penalty.

Well, here we go again. WC Qualfying begins this week with a match against Wales. A sneaky opponent in the sense that they do have the tools available to pull off the odd upset. Still, Canada is the clear favourite heading into the match.
I'm groping a little bit with the personnel. Most of the players are out of date on the website, and I haven't received very many updates. So, for the most part I've selected players whom I am familiar and comfortable with. This may be less then ideal given the dated nature of my information. Guess we'll see. :)

Part of the out-of-dateness may be that Firesokker is not compatible with the latest version of Firefox. (Firesokker was last updated almost exactly a year ago!)
Those who remember my previous terms may recall I always watched the games live, regardless of when they were played. But we've got a 7 week old in the house right now, which makes sleep a much more precious commodity. I'll do what I can, but will be on after a number of the games. Please don't construe this as a lack of interest. :D
We had a decided skill advantage in this match, and it showed. Particularly the passing. Canada's passing was very crisp, and they did an excellent job of hitting their targets - notably Caron, who isn't an easy pass to make. Crosses were very accurate. Early on a number of good chances were wasted, but W Lav and Bruce settled in to form a nice partnership up front.
Midfield was very smooth. Ideally Lemieux would play up where Iginla did (due to his better tackling), but I couldn't find a DM that made me want to sit Iginla. Iginla did a reasonable recovering the ball, and an excellent job making decisions and passes. Caron looked great down the wing. I was surprised he finished with only 1 assist given the quality of his crosses. I was also pleased with P Gusberti, who is the first roster adjustment I've made. The young lad didn't look out of place out there.
The defense did look a little shaky at times - especially Sebrango who had a miserable match. Madden had a decent match considering he's a little off form.
As the superior team, you like it when both teams play their wingers on the same side. Essentially pulls the play over there for the entire match. If you are the underdog and play a wing, you really hope they are on opposite sides to pull play away from their winger.
A decent start. +5 GD won't hold up against what Finland does to Wales, but should be competitive with New Zealand. I haven't checked the rest of the group yet to see how the other matches went.

You should definitely do that:)
You should definitely do that:)
If you're planning to watch the Finland - New Zealand match, don't read on - spoilers ahead.
Wonderful match from New Zealand's goal keeper Taylor. Tho the shot totals ended up pretty even, Finland had many more quality chances. But Taylor was great.
Not a good result for Canada. It's hard to see Finland's strikers struggling consistently as they did today. Means Canada has to take both from New Zealand, or do some damage against Finland themselves.

Pfft:) Did you look all 90 minutes?
Both sides could have easily scored 5+ goals, unfortunately or luckily both keepers were great today. We just managed to score one goal more, otherwise it was an equal game.
I like that our games are in the middle of season - well done against Cymry:)
Try to win against Soumi, hopefully we manage to leave Finland out from top two:)

Gratz for the victory Seca, and gratz for that new little child of yours!
Good luck Seca! Will be interesting to see how ex NZ coach goes against current NZ coach :)
We're all set for Finland. The NZ - Finland result last week likely means we have to get some points off the Fins somewhere ... today would be as good a time as any. :)
