Tactic and the lineup is set for the Guatemala match, let's hope for some more goals than last time these 2 sides met :) and no injuries!

GO Canada!

A perfect game. Excellent.
I have to say though, that the number of saves from hard shots within the 18yard box defies reality and shakes my faith in the game engine.

No perfect fo me, Caron is out for 1 week training

Certainly deserving of a better margin. Guatemala's keeper played well, but it seemed to me the net was missed a fair bit of the time. Strikers just didn't have a good match. W Lav in particular had a tough day at the office.

The tactic was good. One thing I wasn't fond of were the corner kicks. I don't think I like 2 strikers off the far post. It's a long, slow pass out there, and if it is received, not an easy shot from that angle (especially for the deep guy). Would rather a near post guy, or 2 in the middle and 1 off the far post.

There must be some magic in Guatemala's line-up.
17 shots from a maximum divine striker and only one went in?
Same result a few weeks ago?

So much to the randomness...

I know eh, their goalie was on fire. 44 shots and just 2 goals, "something is rotten in the state of Denmark" like Shakespeare would say. Lol the goalie certainly had Lawrynenko's number in this match, shot after shot saved, and nice hard shots they were..... Sorry about Caron Yosarian, the good thing is it's only 13 day injury so he'll be available to you when you face stiffer opposition in your league.

Well, that's one of the matches where you see how much a good keeper is worth.
I mean, their keeper has a value of around 2m euros and is only in weak form!
He must have a very high keeper skill!
But still, I think that this is too much.

In my todays league match the opponent's keeper also made insane saves.
I'm going to die one day in front of the monitor. :)
Just watch the first 12minutes of my match...Wyn vs The Keeper
That was almost too much...like 8 100% goal chances from great distances.
And that keeper is brilliant only.

It is mostly about training, not league.

Big match this weekend. A win and Canada's pretty much in. Anything less and we'll likely need help.
2008-08-16 17:17:42
Good luck today, i can hardly hold my boys back, they are so eager :D
2008-08-16 17:33:06
Not nearly as big a game for Iceland - they have pretty much punched their ticket. Still, a result of any kind might go a long way towards WC seeding.

The Sturlaugsson suspension looks like it could be a problem for the visiting squad today. He's been a playing pretty well this season.
2008-08-16 17:48:34
Correct, Sturlaugsson is our Star player and he helped us very much in the last match against U.

I expect Laufer is in a mood for revenge and i have a feeling we will have a hard day today, but we will do our best to surprise ;D
2008-08-16 17:55:25
Interesting. :) Canada has a somewhat similar problem with the Caron injury. The most obvious direct replacements (O'Hara, Faria) are also beat up. Curious how Laufer will fill the hole, or change the shape.

Canada's striking was very poor last week. I expect the boys up front to really turn it around today. :)

argh
Strikers are standing offside at about every ball position.
That won't be an easy game today.

4:1
Wang made all 4 goals, great match he played.
Overall not nice to watch, but a very important win!
The midfield misses a lot playmaking, it looks like.

The striker on the non-winger side isn't getting any balls.
He should be moved infront of the goal, but not on the far left side.
The cross won't get there and if it does, you won't score from there.
Get both strikers in front of the net when the ball is on the wing so they can take the header!
