wow... that blows....

so guys, I'm kinda new to Sokker (just joined the 2nd or so week of this season) and after making some stupid decisions (accidentally spent 80k on stadium renovations that did nothing -__-') I'm a little strapped for cash, but I am first in my division and play the BC angels to move up to League II.01. What kind of financial differences should i expect once i've moved up? Will I get a significant amount more in sponsorships? if so how much could I expect?

Well, first off, don't presume you're going to win the match. I'm expecting to lose my promotion match, against similar competition to yours, and I have a couple months' lead on you...

You have a pleasant surprise coming your way in the next couple weeks though: At the end of the season (I think next week after the playoff match), your sponsors give you a tidy little cash bonus that will help you along your way. At this point, this is realistically the best you can expect, unless your opponent really wants to go down a division and throw their match...

I did the stadium thing too, there should be a big line at the top of the FAQ telling newbies DON'T TOUCH YOUR STADIUM FOR AT LEAST A SEASON, IT'S A DEAD WASTE OF A SHILLING (-:

My understanding is that supporter dollars is mostly based on the number of supporters that you have. You build up your fan base by winning games...so the best thing that you could probably do is stay in division iii for another season or two and gain the adoration of your supporters.

yeah, I'm not assuming that I will win my match, I have played the guy I am playing before in a friendly and won 2-1 (although i don't recall if we were both using subs, so it could be fairly irrelevant). and yeah I only got like 50k on me now and i just started making profit (although i also just hired 2 assistant coaches totaling 10k a week or so, so i don't make THAT much. Personally i wouldn't mind losing my qualifying match, I just though maybe sponsorship dollars were significantly better in the upper league. I also never realized (until like 2 weeks ago) that all those not assigned coaches i had to begin with (all of which were useless) were costing me around 10k a week in total too... -__-' at least now im starting to figure out what i'm doing and I'm not broke.. hopefully i luck out with some juniors and make some cash or something...

oh, and also for friendlies... should I play teams that are better than me with bigger stadiums in order to make more money form the revenue?

Your ideal opponent for a friendly is somebody near the bottom of League II that you can beat (-: That way, you keep your fans happy and get the extra revenue from playing against someone with a better reputation. It's a tradeoff, but all in all I'd rather get the extra ticket revenue and make the fans happy by winning all my Sunday matches. (Here's a trick I learned: When you're playing against a bot in your league match, use a lineup of mostly second-stringers but just good enough to ensure the win. That way you have a much better chance of winning with your stronger lineup on Wednesday too!)

I think you also get a promotion bonus from your sponsors when you advance to a higher league. I may be mistaken because it was a long since I promoted, but I vaguely remember sth like that........

yeah, but i'd rather win ALL of my sunday matches by a significant margin and have a god goal differential, as it seems to have an affect on the higher ranked teams... also, i got 8 spots in my juniors school... is this too little? i got 3 adequates and 4 goods right now im working on with a "very good" coach.

btw, just another question... ho do you calculate talent? like i see guys saying his junior has a talent of 4 or something.... how do they know this?
2008-09-09 18:39:02
The answer for your last question.

You need to count how many weeks betwen each pop.
/---/--/---/--/
4,3,4,3
So this one got talent 3,5 for example.
2008-09-09 19:19:20
so in Sokker organizer the average pops per week is their talent?

Friendly results do no affect supporters.

From the rules:
"Every week the supporter club size will be updated. The amount of supporters that sign up depends on:

- Club division
- League prestige
- Opponent rank

Qualification games have more influence on supporter moods than league games. "

Playing against bigger team will result in bigger friendly crowds. My experience is that friendly leagues have pretty good attendance. Look to join a friendly league next season after you are out of the Canada cup.

no, it just gives you an indication

talent is rated from tragic to divine same as other skills, but it is hidden, the only way to know is to see the effects of talent, how many pops

roughly, with an unearthly youth coach the highest talents pop at just over 3 weeks

really bad talents only pop every 10

so it is a rule of thumb kind of thing
