The Sokker development team is delighted to announce that the match engine has now been further improved. 16 new animations, including diving motions from the goalkeepers and goal celebrations, were added.
New flash files increase the viewer's size from 178 KB to 1.5 MB and two new sounds (~160 KB) were added, too. This will increase the download time a little when you use the new match viewer for the first time, because the new parts have to be cached by the browsers. For every further match the download should take place as fast as before as the data needed for each match remains unchanged.
The new match viewer is to be tested on the friendly NT matches on the 26th July. The changes are permanent and all subsequent matches will be generated by this new match engine. We do not expect important bugs as changes to the match engine itself are minimal. Please note that the gameplay was not changed, and that the behaviour of the players will stay the same (i.e. defenders will defend exactly like before, players will shoot or pass like before, keepers will save exactly like before).
In the unlikely event that you find any bugs, please report them as usual via the Bugs/Idea's forum.

As they said in the news, the new match files are ~10X larger, so things may be kinda slow on the first week. I'd think twice about listing players for sale ending Sunday ... especially at a time when a large nation's matches are running.

We also get the first crack at the new animations since we've got the earliest kickoff time. :)
We've been removing that link - it wasn't supposed to be leaked AFAIK. Will have an actual match to view very shortly anyway. :)

Yeah it's U21, I've just been a bit slow to promote players but that also works as a strategy somewhat as well :).
I don't know about Parkers eligibility :p. Fortunately he didn't take the field anyway.
Yeah sorry about Parker, I was going to look for a reserve goalie for that match, but just ran out of time. I also got Harvey and Mailet's positions switched...
I thought they were really good too. Passing, shooting, throwing and tackling animations I really liked. Some of the keeper stuff seemed a little awkward at first, but I think I'm catching on to it. :)
