Subject: [NT] World Cup
Btw, I have seen this problem coming two seasons ago, but did not have much of a feedback at the staff.
Maybe it's time to bring this up again?
Imagine that soon everyone will play like that.
The game fun would be neglected
I think it's just a phase. When wingers were crossing balls into the box with high success rates for turning it into goals, despite not having high skills, everyone was using wingers.
At the moment sides will start these offside trap tactics, but as soon as one works out how to beat it, they'll stop. Romania had that game won tactically except in their defense where they tried to play an offside trap back. Had they sat back they most likely would have won the game imo.
The problem with offside traps is you don't know when they're gonna get used. When you do, it's not too hard to break it. I reckon Australia could break down Turkiye if we had a fully fit side to select from and I knew they would play like they have been. Would like a shot at it though.
Other than that it's not football I agree and it's a major pain when it's unexpected but an offside trap still is very risky. One fumble, one red card, one miss tackle and you're through on goal.
