struś [del] to All
Hello!

My name is Michal, I'm 30, working in IT.
I started to play Sokker in April 2004, in 2007 I become Admin.

During over 5 years I learned this game very well, and gained huge experience.

In past, I was National Team coach three times - all with Slovenija.
I also was an assistant coach of polish NT last season (winning WC).

Last year, after buying Vince Lemieux, I started to interest your NT.
I think it’s very interesting team with some untapped potential.
I’m sure, with my experience, I can do nice work here, and make Canadian NT stronger, better, more meaningful in Sokker World.

My achievements as manager
- 1/2 Final of Polish Cup
- 2nd and 3rd place in best 2nd div.
- 1/4 Final Polish Cup
- many seasons in 2nd polish division.
- won 3rd division (4 times)
- won 4th division (1 time)
- I won games with former Polish NT coaches and past Champions (Shadow, Blais, Sloma, Kobinalewka, Luczkis)

as NT coach

- qualify with Slovenija to the World Cup Finals

My goals as National Team coach

- Main goal is win qualification to World Cup Finals.

- 2nd goal is to make NT more interesting for you. I see, there is no forum discussion about players, matches etc. I want to change it – with your help (I hope)

I'm always open for your suggestions and ideas.

Greetings
Michal

Hello Michal. Thanks for putting your name forward. You have done a great job in training Vince Lemieux...it took soooo loooonnnnng for his form to improve to anything decent.

Canada has a few dedicated trainers and a half decent team, but it is probably time for a renewal of interest. There are likely a few good players that with training could help the national team to stay competitive.

What skills/ qualities are most important at the national team level? For example, forwards need pace and striker and technique, but is playmaking & defending necessary?

Thanks for a welcome :)
I'm glad I could do something for Canadian NT before election.

What skills/ qualities are most important at the national team level?

It always depands of the opponent.
I prefer some skills when playing against weak team, and different when it's a strong one.

Greatest difference is in the middle.

When playing with weak team, I prefer to play with more offensive skilled players.
technique, passing, plaumaker, pace

with strong team, we must fight for possesion, interceptions, to minimalize number of runs, shots.
I prefer players with high defender.

I rather play with player:

formidable xxxxx
magical magical
outstanding incredible
incredible xxxxx

than:

formidable xxxx
magical good
divine magical
magical xxxxxx

If we have player with both, tech and def - its great, but if not, I prefer dafender when facing strong team.

When playing with weak team - we can play with 3-4 midfielders with high tech in the middle - to cruch opponent :> and 1 defmid.

But with strong, I would play with 1 technique player, and some fighters in the middle.

Strikers

All types of strikers are useful in some situation.

I like to have one with high defender - he could create a chance for himself, even without help of mids, other forwards.

When second has playmaker and pass - its great - with good placement, he could both score, and create.

Is some matches primary skills are important, in other we could pick player with lower primary, but high secondary. (it depends of opponents, tactic, and our mids - help from the middle).

defenders

Against strong team, primary skills are most important.
So I prefer double divine rather tnan double unearthly with higher secondaries.

Against weak team, we could play with more allround player with lower def or pace to maximalize creation, work with midfielders.

goalkeepers

To compete succesful at high level, we must have world class keeper.

divine keeper with good pace is not enought
outstanding with divine pace - not good too..

When we don't have someone close to double divine, we should find one with min. brilliant goalkeping, and incredible pace.
Form is very important - it's great defference - greater than in any other position between same player in and out of form.
Passing are not so important, but should be at least adeuate to reduce risky kicks.

So, it would be great to complete a squad like:

GK
3 x with skills like above (and pick one in best form)

DEFENDERS
5 x double divine (pace+def)
3-5 x pace and defender both min. brillant, and high secondaries

MIDFIELDERS
2 x wingers with high tech
3-4 x offensive mids with high tech, playmaking, pass
4 x defmids, with high defender, pm, pass

FORWARDS
1 x center striker - superdivine striker - to good heading accuracy
2 x with hight tech - to run through opponent defenders
1 x playmeker and pass - to play side-forward, or back-forward
1 x with high defending, for making a pressing on defenders.

You can see some defmids can play as defenders with weaker teams to gain more possesion, more fluent taking ball forward.

I is a theoretic vision of National Team.
Of course, we may be forced to make some changes - as in real life :)

Do you have another question?
Anyone else?

I'm open for conversation :)

That was such a great answer, such a great post that you have just blown me away!
I have voted for you. And I would have left my vote with you , except that Seca has put his name forward for the NT manager....and Seca is legend in Canada. He knows sokker inside and out and he knows Canada's sokker players.

A most excellent presentation Strus. You certainly deserve to coach internationally somewhere.
Unfortunately for you, your timing is not good here with local icon Seca poised for a return to Canada international duty. As #1 observes, you will have your work cut out for you in Canada now! Most Canadians, will vote for Seca, as I have already done, but good luck elsewhere if you are applying in other countries...

Thanks :)

I understand the situation, but I decide to start in Canada , and not going to start "somewhere".
I'm not the type of person who give up an looking for easier way to do something.
I played with NT 3 times, and I'm not someonr who need it. I like your team, and thats why I decide to start here.

Not this time, maybe next time, who knows :)
Thanks for all kind of support, and good words:)

Greets!

Thanks for all votes and support.
And I hope its not my last word here:)

If Seca hadn't put his hat in again, you would most likely be our new coach. The last time Seca was manager, Canada was 24th in the rankings, which pretty much says it all. Losing to him is like losing to Pele...you'll just have to wait until he retires (-:
