28 have signed up for the new league. There are 121 users in Canada. I expect that we will be lucky to get 50 to sign up in total.

And the league has a stats page, that looks just like every other league:

Leading scorers
Most assists
Players with best average mark
Average team marks
Average individual marks
Average individual marks this week
Most often shooters
Most fouls
Most active
Most active - defensive
Most active - offensive
Players - oldest
Players - most valuable
Attendance
First squad average value
First squad average age

It will be interesting to see how many of these get reported.

It's going to be quite the adventure. :) I'm not really sure what to expect.

Hopefully people double-check the sign up. I found it a little confusing earlier in the week when I had the sign up option, but no league to sign up to. If you looked earlier in the week, please go back and try again.

As I understand, you can sign up anytime, it doesnt have to be the beginning of the season. And I think that the first game is on Tuesday, December 22nd

perhaps we should message people in our own leagues to give them a head's up.

I can't figure out how I got accepted into a junior league...with only six players (may have to get out the ol' kit myself.) ;)

You could pick up 6 on this coming Saturday and even have a substitute, no problem. Don't worry about quality, noone is going to be any good (well maybe Partizan 74).

It may be possible to change the name, from Junior League. Ideas for the name of Canada's youth league? generation adidas; development league; CSL (Canadian Soccer League); Reserve League; OFFSTLIS; Boy's League; Training League...Regional All-stars? Ideas?

Remember, this is Junior League III. In two seasons, it'll be empty anyway, since the top two junior leagues will hold 40 teams between them. Maybe we can give Junior League I a name down the road.

I think that it will be a free for all, with lots of teams moving up and down, no team will be dominant for long, with the best players only hanging around for a season or two, then moving on right when they are the key players on your team. Kind of like the CHL. There may be some teams that do better consistently, some will get lucky and have a wave of good youth, win a few championships in a row, but no one is going to be able to consistently dominate because of the high turnover, uncertainly and luck of the draw.

Mangus: It looks like your team, and a few others, got bumped from the league. Maybe this was for not having enough juniors. In any case, we are down to 30 teams now.

COME on Canada! we can get a bigger league than that.

Not pointless, but as a quite new club you may have other things to do with your $$$$$. I dont know what the window of opportunity is to join the junior league. It may be that it is open and that teams may join the junior league throughout the season and start playing games without delay.

There is no point whatsoever to having a junior coach and only six juniors! The cost of training slots is minor, relatively speaking. If you're going to invest, invest. If you're not, shut it down entirely.

And my very hearty advice is: Invest! The sooner you start recruiting in your junior school, the sooner you'll get decent young players to train and/or sell. It's a long term investment, sure, but you should be playing this game for the long term.

even if you are operating the junior school at a loss in the beginning though... at least its a minor loss. don't invest too big if you cant afford it, but start racking up some prospect for when you can afford the good junior coach and extra slots. but definitely try to get a better junior coach before going over 10 spots.

Today, my first junior team game has been scheduled! And, now my lineup has been set. The setup is exactly as senior team games.

ok this is weird.... i haven't dropped anyone in my junior school since Saturday, and after i did i updated my sokker organizer. and now when i go to set my lines im missing one junior! he was initial weeks 40 and he'd been in the school for 3 weeks with 1 pop already, so he had the potential to be good. grrrr.
