Yep, exciting game to watch - you almost pulled the upset in regular time...and it would have been deserved. It shows once more that Ratings don't mean a thing in cup games .
Odd thing about the shootout btw. As expected, ATTs and MIDs, took penalties but in my case the system chose a Defender (Lelewik) over a MID with Formidable striking & high key skills (Heylens). First time I've ever seen a DEF selected over a MID in a shoot-out! Fortunately for me, he sank the penalty...but he looked very reluctant, staying in the circle at centre until after your keeper was set on the goal line. I was sure he had psyched himself out!! I thought the ME always chose ATTs first, then MIDs before other positions.

wow, classic cup match for Partizan Josivica, all the way to penalties, I won with luck, very entertaining!

Great match to watch. Too bad about the outcome tho, I was pulling for Josavica 'cos I knew I'd be playing you if you won ;( Ho hum, another Bronze!
Your pen. shootout followed the prescribed pattern...ATTs, then MIDs in order of highest numbers first so my shootout vs Gresley was an abberation.

it depends on subs too, if a player has been subbed it skips that spot and adds the subed in player to the bottom of the list, which is total suckage if you sub a striker :(
worked for me this time, but I have no idea how, those mids that scored for me aren't great shooters, luck

I think in the shootout against me, the problem was that one of your guys got sent off, and somehow that messed things up for you...when the guy didn't come out of centre field like he should have, I think that it was supposed to be the sent-off guy's turn.
Must admit I never thought about the effect of subs or ejected players. But again, in the BV vs Gresley match, the red carded guy was #7, DEF Konik, and the third penalty was awarded to #2, DEF Lelewik.
It should have been awarded to #9, MID Heylens in sequence after my #11 and then #10 shot.
I guess the reason I care about this is that, in Cup games, I usually try to make sure that my MIDs are good at taking penalties. And then Heylens gets shafted! He was a MID and he had the correct next highest number. It didn't matter here but if Lelewik had missed and I had lost the shoot-out & the game, I think I would have been somewhat pissed off! :))
I promise I'll stop soon! Last point: you have to watch very closely, but Lelewik actually makes three almost imperceptible movements (not unlike head-dekes!) while standing in the circle waiting to run half the field to take his penalty. Maybe he figured all this stuff would psych out your keeper?!

Maybe they were making a bet just before the penalty, like Ivkovic (Yugoslavia) and Maradona in world cup '90
Lol! Now that would explain the whole episode! Lelewik was jawing away at Sztaba - probably more so after he scored....and it would explain howcome Lelewik was picking up the tab for the drinks after the game. He's normally a real tightwad!!
Bonavista scored early and late to tie and force penalties, but ultimately it is Partizan 74 and Valiant in the final of the Voyageurs Cup this season. Congratulations to both teams.
Yep, Bonavista could have reached their first final ever, but it was not to be. The shoot-out was hilarious. Not exactly a Penalty Kick clinic with a total of 5 goals from 16 penalties!! So 'vista has to settle for Bronze again. Oh well, better than a kick in the ass with a frozen boot.....
Costly victory for P 74 with Vafir and Jackson both out for 20+.
And in the other semi, Amado gets out of the Geriatric home long enough to score 5 goals that help carry Valiant through....doesn't he know when to quit?!!
Good luck to both teams. May the best team win. Should be a great battle...

Heehee. Amado's got some fight left in him. The oldster who really showed some of his old flair in that match was Sierny, who made more then 1 spectactular pass.
It is a classic final match up. Looking forward to it. :)

*Sigh* Jinxed Sierny I guess. He's suspended for the final. Pretty important piece of the puzzle. Means the young lads will have to come through. :)
by hook or by crook, Valiant always finds a way
congrats
congrats
The red card was a tough break. I don't doubt you would have won if that call hadn't been made. VFC was clearly behind in the tech vs. tackle battle on both sides of the ball. And without Sierny there was noone with any creativity in the offensive zone.
You buy an unearthly-divine keeper for that odd match he makes a difference. Fourrier was great in the shoot-out.
