Hey I was just wondering at what point is it okay to sell a goalie. what stats will get noticed and bid on/what do people usually search?
I was wondering something similar, since I'll be selling a keeper some time in the next season or so.
Here are the number of over-21 GKs on the TL right now, by skill level:
53 adequate
81 good
91 solid
38 very good
13 excellent
10 formidable
4 outstanding
1 incredible (and he's Canadian!)
5 brilliant
1 magical
0 unearthly
1 divine
Maximum bids by skill level:
6 250 000 $ divine
3 250 $ magical
2 753 500 $ brilliant
112 250 $ incredible
1 889 000 $ outstanding
667 039 $ formidable
250 000 $ excellent
300 000 $ very good
100 000 $ solid
10 500 $ good
18 752 $ adequate
Don't read too much into the prices - these keepers have vastly different ages, secondary stats and deadlines. The quantities, which drop off precipitously above formidable, are IMHO more revealing. My read is that outstanding is probably the most profitable spot to be selling at below magical, today at least. That would have been my guess before I took a look, too. The price points to buy a non-trainee look to be formidable and brilliant, which also closely matches my intuition.

Excellent-formidable keepers are very common. Above that you see a premium for each level of trained. If I were training keeper, I wouldn't consider selling below incredible, and would more likely keep going into magical-unearthly range. (I've never liked training any skill to divine, as it seems to take forever.) The decision would depend on other factors, such as the player's talent and age, and whether I had another trainee around to take over the spot.
The other skills that influence keeper play are pace and passing. I personally wouldn't worry about either of those. Pace is a very popular training regime. A younger player with a pace deficit is usually worth as much as (if not more then) an older player with more skill in that spot. And though the odd manager will swear by passing on a keeper, it is largely a "oh that's nice" skill. I wouldn't pay any extra dime for passing skill if I were buying, and would strongly advise against ever training passing on a keeper (if you are training for profit - if you are grooming the player for NT, that's different - even then, it would be the last thing addressed).

yeah... I am just wondering when i should be selling Blake Krause, who is 22. I have 4 keepers that are decent prospects. Orefice would probably take over as my main, and i would split training time between Maniezzo and Burnside for Friendlies. If Burnside starts popping I might target him as my eventual Main Goalie and then have Maniezzo as a backup (when this training regime is over). or if Burnside is a dud Orefice will be a solid starter with either Burnside or Maniezzo as a backup. Your thoughts guys?
Krause, 22
11 Keeper (Formidable)
10 Pace (Excellent)
6 Passing (Adequate)
Orefice, 18
9 Keeper (VG)
10 Pace (Excellent)
7 Passing (Good)
Maniezzo, 21
9 Keeper (VG)
9 Pace (VG)
2 Passing (Unsatisfactory)
Burnside, 17
4 Keeper (Weak)
10 Pace (Excellent)
9 Passing (VG)
Krause, 22

Orefice, 18

If all are equal in talent I would train Orefice as first choice and Burnside as second.
You may sacrifice now but you may have a couple of good golies in the future (specially Orefice). He looks quite good.
Try to have a coach with unearthly in pace and keeper (to get as many random pops as possible in the one you are not trainning).

Aye. Yosarian is bang on. If Burnside has talent, then Orefice and Burnside are your trainees. Shame to sell Krause at formid, when I think there would be a decent bump in price at the next level. But 22 is kinda old for that skill level.
Maniezzo isn't a trainee.

so dump the top two guys... or at least maniezzo and possibly wait for a pop on krause and then sell?
Maniezzo on TL now.
Wyn Maniezzo, age: 21
club: Konoha Warriors, country: Canada
value: 260 000 C$, wage: 3 840 C$
unsatisfactory form, adequate tactical discipline
height: 162 cm
solid stamina very good keeper
very good pace hopeless defender
unsatisfactory technique unsatisfactory playmaker
unsatisfactory passing hopeless striker

Something like that. :) GK training is tough sledding. With only 2 trainees they really need to be pretty decent quality.
If you have significant extra training in Krause, then keep him around and hope for a pop. If he just dinged, then I'd sell him.
With GK training, moreso then other training regimes, it's really important to have an extra trainee. An injury to a trainee when keeper training is disastrous.

i guess... but you could also just double train the other guy. Krause hasn't popped since July 30th so i might wait and see if he's close... he got training from last sunday's match.
Numbers may have changed. This is what I work from:
Reg match: 95% of max training
Friendly: 90% of max training
NT match: 33% of max training
So double training is at best 10%, at worst 5% gain. When you only have 2 trainees, this is a kick in the groin.

I should move Francoise and Raines to the senior team (when not playing NT) to get the 5%.
I forgot about that.
Thanks

Thanks
What they said. Train Orefice. I'd sell everybody else and buy a good second trainee off the TL. If Maniezzo was 18 with those stats, I'd still sell him and get someone better. At 21, he's just dead weight.
There are over a dozen 16- and 17yo solid-plus GKs on the TL right now, you should be able to pick one up for a few hundred thousand. This is the kind of trainee you want to be looking at. You train him for three seasons, he's a 19- or 20-year-old unearthly GK and you can name your price. A 21yo unearthly GK just sold for 6 976 000 $...this is what my main trainee will roughly look like early next season.

I think they changed NT match training to 50%
