1. Valiant vs New West Stampedos.
3-2 Valiant, Amado scores 2. Sorry Stamps, just can't see Valiant toiling in div.II!!

2. Hajduk Burnaby vs Snowhares.
Hares get past Hajduk 2-1. Snowhares back in The Show where they belong!

3. DBR vs HL Football
DBR by a score of 3-0. HL have consistently avoided CPL promotion. No change!

Anyone else willing to stick their neck out?!

Some daring predictions there....but I think that you have it all wrong:(
Valiant 0-0 with NWStampedoes. In overtime NWStampedoes win.
Hadjuk Burnaby 2-1. They beat Snowhares.
And DBR crashes heavily to HL Football. Something like 7 or 8 to nothing.

These matches are notoriously difficult to predict. As Numerosix pointed out, this is b/c manager will is a pretty important factor.

VFC was disappointed with their late season slide. We do, however, have everyone available and most have decent form. NWS is a strong side, but we are expecting to win comfortably.

The Verville injury is a big blow to Snowhares. Hajduk by a couple.

Would be nice to de-botify the CPL. HLF could certainly accomplish that. Really does depend on what tier HLF wishes to play.

I seem to remember hearing that HL may make the jump this year, especially considering the success that Duga Resa and Hawkes had this season I can't see why they wouldn't take a run at it, the timing has never been better for them, they could win the whole thing if I can't keep Villa and Fichaud playing effective football

1. Valiant vs New West Stampedos.
I think that NWS is capable of beating Valiant in this one, unless Seca decides to get a couple of world class players prior to the match (which I am sure he has money for in the account). So in the state that Valiant FC is, NWS takes this one!!!

2. Hajduk Burnaby vs Snowhares.
This is a very tough one to predict. Hajduk is one of those teams that is capable of beating stronger teams and then loose to a weaker team the next week. But considering Verville injury I have to say that Hajduk will come out on top in this one.

3. DBR vs HL Football
If HL decides to "play" this match, and get promoted, They will win for sure. I'm willing to bet my house on this one. DB's players are older now, their skills and stamina are dropping and they always play with the same tactic which is, really, not that hard to figure out and counter.

Valiant added a Portugeese NT winger today, so that pretty much answers that :)

Looks like I'm heavily outvoted across the board! Confirms how unpredictable these Qs are. I promise not to crow if I'm right. Not much anyway... ;)

here's what i see for today's matches:

1. valiant has been busy bringing in two new additions, i have a feeling they'll take the match 4-1

2. verville's injury is no fun to deal with but fouad will be able to take his place. form isn't looking so good with my squad, i can see another quali loss for the hares 3-2

3. it would be nice to see hlf in the cpl next season and would hope to see them take the match 4-2

I wrote to yos and basically begged him to promote, seems that he was planning on it, oh I will be so happy to see DB out and finally see HL in the CPL... in that order, HL will be a very tough opponent :)

Grats and welcome. :)

Looks like I have to go back to the TL. Need a mercenary to replace my mercenary.

I have a old/young team (MID is quite young but defense and ATT are old). I suppose I am not going to get trashed every game but I am going to need to see the games and study tactics.

You should have left Vite to me.

Well, I got 2 of 3 right, but more by good luck than good management!

I figured Valiant would do what he had to do to avoid the drop, but who would have guessed that Hajduk would turtle after 6 good seasons in the bigs. And I misread HL : just recently he was saying that he really only cared about developing Canadian talent, but he finally took the big step. Good decision Yosarian, you'll do just fine in the CPL. Just don't win your first game, OK? ;)

Anyway, congrats and good luck to the winners. Like Deja says, CPL should be a good competitive league this season...

With proviso, that is exactly the results that I predicted!
In the end none of the games were close fought. In each game the winning team had more than 20 shots vs, less than 5, for the losing teams.
Good luck to everyone for the new season, and to Partizan 74 and Seca in the big Cup.

Not to worry - you got 1 of 3 right - that's a good batting average in baseball! :)

Funny, it' not often that all 3 Q games are totally dependent on directional policy decisions by the managers, but that's what happened here. Possibly a record - at least in the Canadian game...
