Manohar didn't play in any of the important games like NZ or Hrvatska.
I would encourage you to consider all qualifying matches as important. :) That he didn't play against New Zealand or Croatia shows there are clearly better options on the roster.
He might have been leading the senior squad in caps and minutes which I don't realy count as an important issue as long as he performes good against the weekest opp and he did played goog didn't he??
That he led the team in caps and minutes even though he's not the best player at his position is (IMO) favouritism. It may not be important to you, but it is the reason I was sensitive when Placentino was announced as the starter for today.
I wouldn't say Manohar has played well in qualifying. I seem to recall his shooting % being well behind all the other strikers. Think there was a 1 for 14 game in there (where one missed shot missed so badly it actually crossed the touch line rather then the by-line :P). In the Moldova game where he was the only hope of offence (since Lavrynenko was exhausted) after Giacomi was sent off, he produced nothing.
Cochran is the other one NOT FROM MY SQUAD and played alongside with Manohar and other young players which I prefered most for those matches.
Cochran didn't see near the playing time Manohar did pre-injury. Not even close. I'm surprised you'd raise him as a comparable. If anything, Cochran's usage makes Manohar's seem even more discrepant.
I'm sorry I brought it up. I didn't intend for the discussion to go this direction. Nor is it my intention to be overly critical of a first season NT manager. I just wanted a reason why Placentino was starting ahead of Biron.

Pierre-Charles Ribeiro has had a nice season in the CPL this go round. So nice I didn't realise he was 19. I don't know if Sangeorzan is sending scouting or not, but he may be worth looking into.
I think it might be beneficial if I explained the NT training bonus.
Not in the official rules, but the general consensus about training is that a player playing in a single match gets the following benefit:
Official match - 95%
Friendly - 90%
NT match - 33%
If a player plays in multiple matches, they can max out their training to 100%. In order to achieve this, the player's order must be the same in both matches (the order must also fit with the team's training ... obviously :P).
So a player that gets an NT match and takes advantage of it gets a 5-10% bonus. May not sound like much, but it can certainly add up.
So if you have an NT player, when possible you should try to match up your order with the NT order. If the NT manager lets you know ahead that your player is in, maybe let him know what order you'd prefer (may not be able to accomodate for Q-matches, but there should be some flexibility in friendlies).
Kind of a frustrating conclusion to the "Placentino Affair" was to see the NT training bonus wasted.

So what it's my player and it's no problem if he lost this bonus, he played for Canada and thats more important. So now when you brought this up I can tell you why I used some younger player in NT matches whenever I got chance. Well I did some not good decisions in my first season as NT manager but this Manohar, Placentino "affair" made me crazy.
Let me tell you this. I have 16 strikers on the NT rooster. For the Q matches (first team) I use:
Amado, Luis Giacomi, Jarome Moreau
Not used and not intend to use at all:
Rex Barry, Timothé Choquet, Graham Garvey, Mansor Hitschfeld
Use for the easy matches and, or mixed with first team players and for U-21:
Adriano Cochran, Kirk Fortner, Adrian Manohar, Scottie Wang, Joey Biron, Shimon MacIlvora
Added along with Placentino:
Georges Placentino, Alvin Broussard
Might be usefull someday:
Wyn Lavrynenko
For the case of Manohar:
I am considering all games even friendly important. You get me wrong about that OK I would say less important or a chance for some youngsters to play or why would I play our best strikers(and other positions) against Nippon or India considering those as week opponents. So I didn’t chose Amado or Moreau for those games instead I chose Giacomi, Manohar, Fortner, Wang, Cochran, Lavrynenko talking about strikers. Ok I use Manohar more then others which those not mean he is the best at this position and of course I know there is better options on the roster that’s why I use those better options for the games for NZ and Hrvatska, I don’t know why you even mention this of course I wouldn’t play Lavrynenko, Fortner, Cochran or even Manohar for those games.
According to this for easy matches, if I don't want to use first team players and those I mention I am not intend to use and those added latter including Biron, left are:
Adriano Cochran, Kirk Fortner, Adrian Manohar, Scottie Wang, Shimon MacIlvora and Wyn Lavrynenko. So the best choise of those is Wang and after Manohar. Ok maybe I should have used Wang more.
Now about Placentino. He got skills to be in NT but right now he is the last choise but still I made him play a friendly considering all games even friendly important, Canada still won this game after all. He was the weekest one of the strikers and I knew he is gonna be the one. I just can't see why are you so mad that Biron didn't start, he played in the second half.
Let me tell you something else after I played both games vs NZ, as you knew all players from Canada NT rooster, skills and abilities I wanted to make something like I don't know what to do and who to play and where and how and all those issues just because you are a manager of our opponent in the group, so to make you think what's gonna be, whos gonna play...
I would love you to tell me if I did some wrong moves beside those and how I did in qualify, I play 2-2 vs Hrvatska, lose and beat you (NZ) and all the others clear win except Moldova one game. So Canada did best it could have done so far and with the win vs Nippon we are qulified as second in the group.

It wasn't my intention to rekindle the striker debate. You explained why Placentino started. I accept your decision.
My post was meant more as information rather then criticism. I probably should have sent it privately, but I thought it was potentially useful for the broader community.
So what it's my player and it's no problem if he lost this bonus, he played for Canada and thats more important.
It's not just your problem. Other nations are using the NT bonus to maximize the training of their best young players. If we choose to discard it, we fall behind.
You are in a unique position to maximize the NT training bonus, since you control when your players play and the orders they play with. I would encourage you (primarily in friendlies) to make the most of it. :)

Thats the position he played last game our friendly. He is a DEF but his manager asked me if possible to play him as MID so I did. You asked me not to use Amado if possible in one of the game couse you been training him in MID position so I didn't.

That's all good. :) What I'm asking is that if you choose to use your own players, you extend them the same advantage.
I knew about the bonus but wasn't aware that a player maxed out at 100% :(
Thanks for letting us all know Seca.

and incredible form :)
and incredible form :)
probably best to send pops to the manager in private mails.. never know who's reading this eh?
I would love to hear from you guys about this:
I thought about releasing Timothé Choquet age: 22 from NT rooster.
Reason: He has no team so no training. His team is in second position in division 5 Polish league which has 7 divisions. So it will be minimum 2 season until he might drop to division 7 and possible TL, until then he will be 25 and late for any training. Right now he don't have any chance to play. One of our greatest talents get lost and I don't see a reason to keep him on the rooster.
Would love to hear you opinion about this.

BTW tactic for our next clash vs Nippon is all set and managers of participating players have been notified.
:'( It makes my heart break. I wish I could call him back.
I don't think it makes much difference. My preference would be to keep Choquet on the roster for the present time.
Two reasons. There is really no harm keeping him on the list (no roster size restrictions). I also think it's possible the player release rules may be adjusted (have been a number of complaints about the present system), so there is a chance he could be freed before 25.
I find it a little comical Choquet's bot team is actually doing better this season compared to last. :P
