Are you going to make those contest again this season, Seca?
2008-03-01 15:48:03
I thought they went alright last season - so yes, I think we'll try something again. The delay in the election stalled things a little. I'll have some stuff put together before league matches tomorrow.

Btw - Philippe Vaillancourt, midfielder from Real Hawkes was also called up this week. Kind of a unique case - as Lorne pointed out to me Vaillancourt was a $4 transfer. Shows what a bit of talent and a skillful manager can do. Vaillancourt did not look like much - but has developed into a very serviceable player. :)

Dwayne Tancredi is on the TL and has apparently had a GK pop (likely through general training). Means he's probably a better back-up option then Clemens.

Keep in mind Madden's pace training will soon erase any questions about who our #2 is.

Georges Placentino is also on the TL. Looks like Hajduk Burnaby is on for some residuals. :D

It not out of the realm of possibility that he could be called up again at some point, tho he is behind some other non-roster strikers the same age.

Got the Pool Contest up again. Take a look, pick your team. :)

The Proposition contest will appear again this week. Look for it Wed-Thur.

There will also be a multiple choice Team Canada trivia contest some time this season. :)

Got through yesterday healthy. :) But there are some that will see action on Wednesday - not in the clear yet.

Form update was ok. Abbas Musa was one that caught my eye on the down-side. Form of the defense is more of a concern then the other positions at present. Tho Parker and Amado are both in decent form, would be great if they'd both tick up a bit on Thursday.

Milos Leopold is on the TL.

He sold for a whack of cash as a 17 year old. I'm not sure about him. His mother club didn't provide talent info. He's got 1 tech pop, 1 pace pop & a little stamina to show for his 8 trainings with his current club - which doesn't really say anything about his talent.

His skills are promising, but I think he's a little speculative.

Only one knock today - defender Neil, who wouldn't have played even if he were healthy and in better form.

Now for some kindness in the form update ...

Very respectable form update. Parker, Amado, Wang, Caron all up. Giacomi showing signs of life. Defenders mostly held steady or dropped a little. Had hoped Abbas Musa would have moved up some. :S

The Dream Team site is up again (see useful stuff topic for the link). Always helps a little when scouting for U21. I was not aware of Ryan Cooke, who looks like he could be a useful U21 defender.

re: Ryan Cooke

When I sold him I think that he was 17yo with hopeless defending, poor technique, adequate pace and playmaking and average stamina and passing. I dont know what his talent was, but it must of been alright (around 5) because I trained him for a few months.

A few knocks today (Ferranti, G Cochrane, Li), but nothing that affects the WC line-up.
2008-03-10 16:38:40
Not much change in form. My own Joey Biron on a losing streak - has dropped a fair bit recently.

Scottie Wang, striker, now on TL.
2008-03-17 01:50:47
A number of knocks today. O Lavrynenko, Lamo, Sahota. The most important one was Wagenaar - I'd set a provisional line-up for Finland, and he'd been in it. Back to the drawing board.

Not much movement with form today.

Really watching Malhotra, Mayard and Villanueva. I'm hoping one of them will act like he wants to play this weekend (for Wagenaar) by stepping up his form.
2008-03-20 12:46:14
Through the week with no other significant injuries.

One of those 3 did decide he would like to play this weekend - Mayard with a nice climb in form. Giacomi also had a good week for form, but is still not in great shape.
