When you are selling a player, claiming he will be "triple divine by XX" isn't fun - it's a cheap sales trick - especially when the claim is unrealistic.
When the player is actually yours, I still doubt the statements are intended as "fun". More likely they are self-promotional or player-promotional in nature - especially when the claim is unrealistic.
The "fun" in those statements is making the people who say them look like fools. Loop's claim of Lavrynenko being triple divine by 26 is clearly false. Even with his incredibly optimistic training estimations he won't make triple divine before he's 27. And that's assuming he spends the rest of his career injury free.
That's my take anyway. But I'm an old grouch. :)

Are you training tech for the next couple of seasons?
yes am training technique.
If you want my honest opinion, I think it would take the rest of this season till he is 26 to have divine technique.
26yrs old divine scoring, divine technique, brilliant pace. o.0 That's enough

they are intended as fun ;) i have private notes on all of my players on what they will look like at the end of the season...have i sold any of my trainees recently? no...so how can you say that im player promotioning my player? i've been doing this for the past 3 seasons....

What are you talking about??? I didn't accuse you of anything. I didn't mention your name anywhere. I made a general response indicating why I don't like making public predictions.
Do whatever you like to have fun. Really. If guessing where your players will be 1, 2 or 10 seasons from now turns your crank, then go for it.
But when managers make those predictions public they should expect them to be challenged. Especially if they are questionable.

Well I was more trying to show what I'm trying to do with him.
Not more :)
But honestly, I still think it would be possible for him, but unlikely.
I have seen far weaker players at that age end very nice...
/edit
anyhow, I got him now.

Good luck with him. :) Along with Biron he looks to be the future for Canada at the position.
Nice piece of business by his previous owner. Pretty good ROI.

Thanks.
Yes, was a good deal, but players like that are rare and I was happy to finally find someone that fits my needs.
Do you know how hard it is to spend 10-13m euros?
I didn't...

unlucky it wasn't the right time for me to bid :P
I do know. :) I've been looking for a premium midfielder for almost a season now.
Especially of late there has been limited supply at the upper end of the skill spectrum (IMO). Has meant prices for these players haven't really dropped since the start of the season.

A shame. I would have enjoyed watching him score goals on 11 Wise Men. :)
Some might wonder why I took a pass - twice - on Lavrynenko. I strongly considered him both times he was sold. But my training regime cycles seasonally through tech, pace and striking. Since he's already divine striker, adding him to the roster would hamstring my normal program.
His training from here is relatively straight forward. His new owner is skilled and undoubtably has a premium coaching staff. He's in good hands. Just needs to stay injury free.
(BTW - I think there is something to be said for putting the technique on a striker last - for the simple reason that it reduces the number of injuries the striker sustains in his career. It means the striker isn't as useful early on, but in the end, probably climbs a little higher in the skill spectrum.)

Exactly my philosophy.
It's not only limited to strikers, but to about every position you train.
I haven't had any injuries on my midfield trainees with technique below outstanding.
First I trained their pace to avoid getting tackled from behind too often, then I trained about 20 weeks passing and 6 weeks playmaker.
Now they should be ready for technique training, hopefully.
@Lavrynenko
That's the problem, he is already divine since more than 3 seasons, so no need to train him anymore he will get to the maximum from general training.
I have a magical head coach and 3 magical assistants, as long as he doesn't get injuried he should progress nicely.
I have had problems with my striker trainees getting long term injuried every 3 games in the past, I hope this has changed now!
But those strikers have been slower.

The main problem with training technique up is playmaking.
If playmaking is low and technique very high its like having a butt on your back "Please hurt me"
