Btw - I see a new U21 striker has been called up. Is Gérard Talbot really NT caliber? He doesn't look like he's anywhere near Boissieres, Sewell or Farahani. My Parise puts up better marks and value, and he's got half the form and only weak stamina (and is a year younger).

Hmmm
His talent graph shows me 5 weeks to very good technique, so he is hyper untalented as well.

He was added to help out with U21 matches coming up, more in case someone injures. Once he turns 22 he should be released....

I think you've misunderstood my question. I'm not asking why a 4th U21 striker is necessary (tho that is a valid question). I'm asking - why Talbot? I didn't do much research, but here are 8 guys who have better value and comparable marks (marks aren't the best indicator for players this age - but along with value start to form a picture).

Giuliano Parise - 20 - Valiant FC
Atiba Harvey - 20 - New West Stampedos
Hal Celali - 20 - FC Warriors
Garth Galindo - 21 - FK Otpisani
Flip Kozlowiecki - 19 - Spain
Milos Leopold - 19 - Belgium
Dustin Easingwood - 20 - Netherlands
Vladimir Ali - 20 - England

The top 4 are all Canadian owned and trained. 7 of the 8 are younger then Talbot. For a 4th striker, don't we want an up&comer? I don't understand why we'd use a token player in that role.

My real concern hear is that Talbot was added because his manager is "noisy" (he made several attempts to get Talbot on the team when I was manager) rather then merit. I'm not sure you want to set a "squeaky wheel" precedent early in your term.

Brayden Luther might interest a pace-technique trainer. No idea what his talent is like. Lorne may know.

The following NT player is for sale Derek Barrera

Fine central midfielder. New Zealand could really use a Barrera. :)

NT Keeper Joe Parker is also on the TL - but already has a silly bid.

Thanks. I was expecting him to play more (based in the previous years)

Parker's silly bid actually got sillier. Pretty nice business turning a 3 125 000 $ profit on an out-of-form 29 year old in just 3-4 weeks. :S

Are we going to join U-21 after WC this season?
2008-10-11 22:10:46
I signed us up yeah, even though our U 21 team is not that strong this year. A lot of our main players turned 22 :((

I can give you the skills of a few 20yo players that may be good for middfield
