Looks like Wyn Lavrynenko will be for sale soon, I think he will end up in 20 - 25 mil range possibly even more.....
People offer me 11m euros (remember, I bought him 3 season ago for 11,5m and gave him non-stop training since that).
What jokers.
Best I got was 14m, which would be ok I guess.
Looks like he is going to stay with the loops ;)
It's not that I need to sell him, but for Canada it would be better if he could get another season tech training.

I was speaking in Canadian $.....
Yes you're right, get his tech and pace up to divine and then sell him :D

Along with all the B&O guys, two of my N-teamers - Broussard and Holden - are now available on the TL.
Now I really wonder why Broussard played 75mins as single ATT and Wyn only 15 minutes...
Quite a lot skillpoints are between them.

I can't remember W Lav's skills exactly. But from what I recall ...
Pace: Broussard +1
Tech: W Lav +1
Striker: W Lav +3
The form difference between the players (Broussard +5 in form) levels that off some. Which means you are getting all of Broussard's great tackling skill (12) for a level or two of striking. I can understand the selection. :)

actually, Wyn didn't play at all
I lost my internet connection as I was setting up the tactics for the game so they were kind of messed, Nesta instead of Verville and Renda playing on the wrong side were some of the results
oh well, these things happen

When playing with a single striker you would need all the striker skillpoints you can get.
That's why I was wondering ;)
Now I see. Can happen!

Great bargain, I'm very happy.
Will serve me well and get some extra pace trainings along the way.

He should play along the line as winger, don't put him as offensive MID.
He will play the position Zlobas played in this match, but higher up front.
It's worth a try, I expect him to use his striker skill as well.
I got enough wingers ;)

This is only true if all your striker is expected to do is sit in the 6 yard box all match long and wait for crosses. Caron and Iginla are nice players, but aren't quite good enough (against opponents like Mexico) to be the sole source of offense.
Striker is a threshold skill. In any given situation a player with a little less striker skill may perform just as well. The added skill just improves one's draw-roll a little. (And when form enters into the equation, it becomes a little murkier). Take today's match against Uruguay. W Lav and Caron each took one long shot, otherwise all these chances were pretty comparable.
Broussard 2/3 (67%)
Caron 1/4 (25%)
W Lav 2/9 (22%)
Pace, tackling, tech are confrontational skills. They are directly measured against an opponent's skill. It's pretty rare for a player with poorer confrontational skills to play to the same level (it implies the opponent is weak, which Mexico is not).
I've always put an emphasis on confrontational skills - both with NT player selection and with my training. But I suppose this could be one of those striker trainer - midfield trainer differences of opinion. :)
