Subject: So the Early Red is still with us...

I spent a considerable amount of time putting together a new formation in an effort to trip Partizan whom I have never beaten. Then I settle back to watch my game only to see my best midfielder, de Rooy, collect a straight Red Card at 2 minutes, (his first touch!). This leaves a gaping hole in centre field that you could drive a Mack Truck through. So I stop watching and just go check the final score because I know that the system has just conceded the game to my opponent.

I thought that the admins got the message about awarding red cards almost before the game has begun? What's the point of it other than to eliminate one team from contending the game? None of the other two games I still play or the other two I used to play have this ugly feature. I've never seen Red cards given out in the opening minutes of games IRL, so why do the SK admins still think it's such a good idea?

Well, you are right. (if that is any consolation). It is incredible how often a red card is awarded within the first 5 minutes of the game. It has no basis in the game. And it gives a large advantage to the opposing team.

I agree also, it really takes something out of the game even if you win because of it. The argument from the devs has been that it is the same for all teams and that it gives weaker teams better chances at upsets, but they are wrong, the weaker team is chasing more often and is more likely to be the one getting the card.

Oh well, there is nothing that can be done.

I got a minute 2 red Sunday as well, to my left wingback. So my left midfielder had to cover basically half the pitch, and surprise surprise, he collected two yellows to get sent off at minute 62.

I still won 0-5. Gives weaker teams a chance of an upset? Sure.
