Hey guys,
I would like to become our U21 coach because I want to represent our country. As U21 coach I would look for new talent (almost half the current roster is 21), try and bring us up the rankings and also schedule a game or two against some of the top teams.

Best of luck with your nomination. I think that Slavki has done an excellent job in setting friendlies every week and fielding a competitive team. Scouting must be difficult at the u21 players, but I am sure that every decent 19 and 20 year old Canadian is already on the roster. The rest of the roster will just have to be filled out with the best of the rest, methinks.

Do you think that Canada has a chance in the u21 World Cup qualification round?

Thanks, and yes, the best are probably all on the roster already. I will still try and find some more talent though, you never know what might be out there.
As for the U21 WC qualifiers, it will be very tough, especially with half the team gone but unless we get burned with a really bad group there is always a chance to advance.

amazing luck for the group, got 14th place, 28th place and 46th place for the 3 teams ahead of us :)

so now that you know the opposition, do you have any schemes and tactics? are we going to be using a new match engine, with more combination play?

just checked out the other teams, Al Maghrib is only 4 places behind us but they don't look like they will be too much of a threat, their team must have been weakened alot this season, same goes for Slovenia, their team doesn't even look like it has the same quality players as ours. Germany will probably top the group so the toughest thing will be beating mexico, which will be hard. I only looked at their top 7 or 8 players but there was a good distribution of mids, defence and strikers. I'm not sure if the new match engine will still be around, but if it is I would probably leave the defenders far back to force longer shots, and with the new engine it should make them pass around alot, and then when there is a bad pass the defence would pounce on it and send it up to the strikers. This is just an idea now though and I need to watch some more matches with the new engine if it stays to make sure it would work. (In my game with the new ME the other team did this at the end, trailing 2-0 and didn't get anything done even though they dominated the possession for the last while and were around my 18 yard line). Anyways, I hope that answers your questions :)

Also, this is unrelated to what you asked, but I had an idea to start a forum where, before each game, users could say what their expectations for the game are. Hopefully this would get more people involved in the NT and U21

The election is ongoing, but I just wanted to ask, because the new manager will have to put together a team quickly and I have some pops to u21 potential players...Do you think that we should post our players into the Canada Association forum or send them directly to the new u21 manager?

wouldn't really matter to me. Whichever one the manager prefers, and of course users not from Canada with u21 players wouldn't be able to post their players in the forums unless they join the association. I would keep the players' stats and sort them anyways and it would be just as easy to do it no matter how i get their stats :)

Two seasons ago, I coached the U21. I was pretty new then, my first few matches I didn't even have players set up for throw-ins :P But by the end of the season I felt that I had improved alot. This season, my first in divison II, I finished 4th in my league, playing against users that have up to 4 years' more experience than me. Despite this, and despite having a very weak team at the beginning of the season, I finished in 4th, with a +16 GD, and I never lost by more than 3 goals or allowed more than 3 goals at any point during the season.
This season my goal would be to advance to the WC, although a more realistic goal would be to finish 3rd in the group.

You have proven yourself to be very knowledgeable (is that how you spell it?), motivated and dedicated to the u21 team. Good luck in the election.
Do you have a preference for defensive or offensive midfielders?
