Subject: New Season Predictions and Hopes

ugh...pathetic shooting from my strikers today, 5 goals on 36 shots. One of them went 0 for 13. Plus, one of my two main strikers got a red card. On the bright side, I managed to play 3 of my 16 year olds :)

This game really hates me. Lost 1:0, I outshot my opponent 10-5, I don't think he had a single shot from inside the box, my strikers missed 2 breakaways, my winger shot from a bad angle on a 2 on 0 (and other times where he had 3 guys in the box). On the bright side, I finished with 9 more points than I had hoped for at the beginning of the season in 4th place, so I don't have to play a relegation match. I also accomplished my goal of not losing by more than 3 goals all season and I had the 3rd best goals against in the league.

After a great start to their Division II career, the Rainbow Sniffers hope to do even better this season. This season they look to place 2nd and/or finish the season with 30pts, and to keep their record of never allowing more than 3 goals in a match intact. The Sniffers will also look to produce some more Canadian youth from their YS.
In the Voyageur Cup, the Sniffers will have 4 players out with long-term inuries for the first match (3 injured in my friendly today :/), but they should be back in time for the first league match. The Sniffers will play mostly trainees in the Cup, so don't expect them to get past the second or third round.
The Rainbow Sniffers would also like to wish good luck to all Canadian teams :)

After 2 seasons, i'll be in league II-1. Honestly, i'm not sure if i'm ready. My hopes is to stay in that league but it will be hard, not sure if I have the team... I have checked the others and they have really a better team.
If you have advises ? Buy players, try to draw at each games....

I would say play with a 541 or 532 to try to keep games close and maybe steal a draw or a win, and look for cheap, good, older players, preferrably defensive midfielders or defenders (don't get them too old though, or their skills will go down quickly). Strikers aren't as important. I played with an striker with excellent pace/technique/striker for the whole season and he did alright. The important thing is to get good mids to send good passes so the striker can get behind the defence, and good defenders to keep the score low. Even my excellent technique striker dodges most tackles when he is behind the defence.
As for goalies, I don't think it's that important to have a very good keeper. I played with a solid keeper/ solid pace goalie in bad form all season. If you play a high defence I would say get a goalie with better keeper and lower pace, and if you play a low defence I would say a goalie with around solid/very good keeper and higher pace. I think around half my goals against this season were from bad passes or far out shots that my goalie couldn't get to in time.
Also, you should keep your youth school open. If you get a good 16yo with well-placed skills you can sell them for alot. this season I sold one with adequate pace, defender and technique for 1800000C$.
Hope that helps :)
Et je m'excuse, je voulais l'ecrire en francais aussi mais je n'ecris pas assez bien en francais. :(

Thanks for yours advises.
I will try to follow them, but it's hard to manage a short budget and a junior team.
I hope my sponsors will be more generous this season...

for now is very important to train young players and to keep tracking of their development. If they have low talent just sell the b@st@rds and buy others. for the remaining positions you can buy cheap old players (if you don't train pace). spend the money on trainees, just a very, very small amount for the rest of the players.

lol i think I'm cursed. I would have won but my keeper fumbled a cross and then my opponent's striker came and put it in. That was also the only goal I allowed that the shot was taken from anywhere near the net.
