Subject: [NT] Andorra

Andorra should not be much of a problem normally, but we have some serious personnel issues which has limited my tactical options. Tactically, this match presents an interesting challenge as well. I don't like to bet everything on one horse so I have picked a good all round tactic which should deal with most eventualities rather well.

Just out of curiosity, how many people actively follow the NT?

I follow the NT and u21NT, but I dont watch every game. I check the results.

I check results from week to week, as I got some players in those teams. I find it interesting to watch our best canadian players performing in those games.

Andorra should be happy not to have conceded a lot more, but we got the three points - at the cost of just a single yellow card. Our striker might have gotten sent of a number of times so we got lucky there. I really don't like it when strikers just decide to come down and collect the ball, but there isn't much you can do about it, apart from positioning your midfield properly - which I did. Just plain old fashioned (bad) luck.

Tactically, it was very much a gamble whether we'd face a high or a low defence line. I therefore opted for two low wingers and a relatively high striker. An extremely low defence line would have been problematic, but my gut feeling proved to be correct: it didn't happen.
