CANADA vs Wales 2-1
Friendly Match U27
VS
Dear friends,
today we played an U27 match against Wales. Finally we managed to win. Performance improved a lot and I am quite happy especially with defence. We still created few chances so the next step will be improving there now.
Some players performed really well , others not too much.
2nd half was much better. Mita performance in 2nd half improved drastically.
It was not an easy match cause continuously Wales changed their tactic 3/4 times during the game, switching their winger from one place to another.
From crosses we did well as well.
Lets hope we keep on building well on this. We suffered a bit but at least we had a better performance and mostly the win which we really needed after 3 loses.
Next Saturday we will have the return game against Wales, again U27 as agreed with Wales coach.
At least today we get back a bit our smile :)

not too much to say....it just wasnt our day...result does not reflect our performance at all. quite happy with first 60mins new tactic (before change) worked pretty well, we created and behind we were good.
minor mistakes cost us an undeserved heavy defeat.
when we play bad and lose you know I say so, but really, apart from very minor mistakes I cannot blame the performance especially with the initial tactic.

today we will play against Uruguay. A very difficult match for us but it is a good test to see where we stand against stronger teams. Uruguay are coming from a lot of big wins so I hope we manage to control them as much as possible.

Dear friends,
today we played a friendly match against Uruguay. As I stated before a very difficult match. I am very happy with the performance and I believe in the America Cup we can perform good.
We created a lot and I think we did not deserve to lose cause we really created a lot. Unfortunately their goal came from as small leak we had in mid and we got caught from a straight line through pass.
Unfortunately for us we lost immediately our winger who looked could be our weapon for this match. Aucoin did perform quite well but his form compared with that of Zaharijja make all the difference and we could have created even more.
The tactic worked well imo and for the first time MITA was extremely good. We had the return of Salitieri in front who is our best striker and finally he is improving his form as well.
Otherwise cannot say more cause imo the tactic was well prepared and I managed to find a bit of a leak by attacking from the side. It worked but it was not our day.....once again!
The only bad thing I can find in this match is the result (apart from that small gap def to mid when we are attacking).
Its true we lost 2 out of our 3 matches but at least now we are performing compared to the Mini WC disaster.
We just need some luck to turn our way and if you watch todays match you see what I mean! A draw would have been much more a fair result but considering Uruguay destroyed their teams in their last matches we can be quite satisfied though not happy.
Next week we will be back to play U27 so we keep our players as fit as possible for the America Cup since I want a good performance there to make up for the MIni WC.
We will be playing against my country Malta but for this game I will be turning Canadian. Malta U27 is good, their coach is good so it will not be easy and especially since we know each other very well where regarding our tactics.

Today we played a very good match imo and tactically everything worked fine. seriox performed really well today and he was the king of the wing. Mita seems to be getting there and sure he has much more to give to the NT.
Clayton returned after very long injuries 3 in a row and he is there. He had no faults in both goals.
defensively was my biggest scare since we lack form but despite that we did considerably well.
Overall a good performance against a very good team , it is a good boost for us. But I do believe we are doing a great job and that soon we will be getting more consistency in our results.

Today we played against Latvia a very difficult game which ended up 2-2. This was a very very good result for us and finally we are seeing the fruit of all our work and keeping on believing finally gave us the results we wanted.
we played an incredible game today in my opinion, and with some luck we could even have done a miracle and won it.

Very very disappointing game. Our supposed best players played horrible. Performance was disaster. I should seek for mor youngsters and remove slowly old players.
I take fuLl responsibility for this game and hope next week against chile which will be a very difficult game we will perform better.

Looking at the stats, should have been ours, but the shots are even. They just did the right formation against us. You'll get them later on!
yes sarakis they just picked up the perfect formation and tactic but that does not justify the awkward performance. :)

Dear friends,
today we will play second match of America Cup. After getting some good results in a row we lost last saturday playing very badly.
Today we will be playing against Chile rank 6 in the world so let us say it is not the match to get us back on our feet.
However , we will do our best to get a satisfactory performance which doesn't end up in a nightmare.
I will still give the last chance to our top players. I hope today some of them will make up for the disaster of last Saturday.
It has been a very difficult season for us. Mainly we lacked consistency cause on and off we performed well and got good results together with some good performances. However sometimes we did badly.
Let's hope today things get back on track.

Today we will be playing against Chile rank 6 in the world so let us say it is not the match to get us back on our feet.
However , we will do our best to get a satisfactory performance which doesn't end up in a nightmare.

A very unjust result in a match which we should have got something better from it. 5-1 does not reflect the gama at all and i think it is very unfair and blacks out a very very good performance. You can watch the game and judge it for yourself.
It true we played one of the best teams in sokker but losing 2 classical 1 vs 1 and than eventually hitting the post 1mm away from the goal line without the goaler in the postI dont know more what to say.
It is just not my season cause everything seems to go wrong. Whatever I try , whatever i do irrespective how much we create and irrespective how well we play.

But seems it is just like this this season. I will keep on honouring my commitment as an NT coach so at least Canada is well prepared for next season.

today we played our last game of the Cop America. We closed with a very very nice win against a very strong team.
We played extremely well, we dominated almost all the match, had uncounted 1 vs 1 which we lost most of them, again we managed to miss a goal without the keeper in the goal, for a change had a couple of injuries but we are used to that by now this season.
We were unlucky losing Zaharijja for injury since Adriano is more a def so we lost tech in the mid.
However we played really well and the changes I did in some of the positions worked out well. even the tactical changes.
I knew he was going to play the winger so I covered there and I think they rarely created from there.
unfortunately we still conceded a bit from the long high balls so we need to work out on that.
I am really satisfied today, Very nice trilling match which I suggest you to watch.
We really needed this win. Now slowly we are approaching the end of the season.
we can say we have a good squad now, so we will use the last few matches to fine tune everything.
I want to try to end this season on a high, even though we were a bit inconsistent this season, we can still be happy for some good results. Considering everything and all the ups and downs I still believe we are working well and we are on the right track.

Congrats great game i will not stand for elections if you decide to lead the team for one more season.
