Thanks mate. I can always come back, I just think a break from the NT and a chance for somebody else won`t harm the National Team.

I don't think I will apply for a NT at this moment. Do we have/know anyone who can take over from you?

I think that the national team has potential, there are a couple of youth prospects in the senior team. But as I missed the WC for the second time in a raw, I would like to offer some else the chance to bring something new. If he won`t do that a good job. I can always come back :)

Lol, thanks for asking. I'm not sure whether I want to return to NT's now that I've qualified for the CC with my own team. Then again I doubt that we'll be in that for too long ... lol! Tbh, I were considering returning to NT action but I have to admit that I were considering applying for other "easier" challenges. When I last took on the Canada NT role, the job were "easier" than it is now. Not to mention I'd have to get the one Canadian voter to vote for me, you know who you are ;-)

Btw, congrats for winning the Premiership. Great achievement!

I don't want to take over Canada though. I like having two people (U21 and Mens NT), interested in the Canadian system. If I am the coach then it is just me. I mean if there is literally no good coach applying, then maybe I'd consider it, but there will/should be some good options

Friendly / 15th of April

Portugal vs Canada 2-4

Our National Team met yesterday Portugal, one of the teams which have qualified to the World Cup.
We played high def, only with two central mids and a winger. The tactic proved to be working and slowly we dominated the game.

We obtained a nice win and gained some great rank points.

Next week we meet Romania. What an opponent!

You went from 48th to 46th on the back of that win. Every little helps! :-) The aim next season has to be to try and break into the top 32 as that would make qualifying for the next World Cup much easier. However, jumping from 46th to 32nd in one season is maybe not possible as that's a lot of ranking points that would need to be made up.

Breaking into top 32 would mean beating better ranked teams. It is not impossible and could be achieved.

Hopefully in the two remaining games I will grab some other rank points.

The current gap to 32nd (currently Scotland) is 360.03 pts. Not impossible but would mean having to play higher ranked countries in the friendly games and winning many more games than you lose. Won't be easy ...

The gap is not that big, but our advancing depends on the games the other will make as well.
Anyway, Canada has to perform and win and advancing in the ranks will surely come.
