Subject: »[NT]NT and U21 Matches

We lost 1-0 to Scotland in an end to end game, there really should have been more goals from both teams. A red card and injuries didn't help us but that happens sometimes. We have England next (as long as they remember!) :-)

In last 2 games scotland plays with one of my left tactics:( sheam they were not used on world cup :(

A poor game for us against England :-(

I hold my hands up, I got it wrong. The tactic I used was ill advised in hindsight but it did highlight something that I have realised since returning. Our defenders simply aren't good enough which is a major concern moving forward.

Not to mention, we have not scored in 3 of our last 4 games as well. Time to reassess what we can and can't do by the looks of it.

Your def selection seems poor indeed. Not mentioning the mid line. No back up players there as well.
Try different types of tactics, move the players around in different positions, see how it goes.

Difficult times sometimes require difficult choices. It's safe to say that the current NT squad has some defiencies (the average ratings will tell you that). We have such few decent players (and even less coming through) that we need the good younger ones to be trained as efficiently as possible. So with that in mind, 10 players from the current squad were removed overnight and a number of players aged 22 to 27 have been added to the main squad in their place. The aim is to get as much training as possible onto these guys with the thought of trying to get some decent players coming through together in around 2 to 4 seasons time.

Well, that were entertaining!

We somehow beat Uruguay 4-3 today ... lol ...

We led 3-0, got pegged back to 3-3, then somehow managed to sneak the winner!

Got a few of the younger ones some match time too so hopefully that helps us moving forward.
Uruguay are ranked 26th, so that will get us some much needed ranking points :-)

But deep down we are much better than them ;)

A great victory against the U21 of Makedonija . For sure the best strip of positive performance since I'm the coach of this wonderful national team.

Wow awesome win vs USA!!!

The NT had another encouraging win today against a decently ranked country. USA are ranked 24th in the world and we beat them 4-2 today :-) What's really encouraging though is that we had 5 players aged 25 and under in our starting XI today (23, 24, 24, 24, 25) plus, we had a 25 yr old come on as sub today. So the last 2 weeks have been a lot more positive.

The last two weeks have perfect. Keep it up, it's very promising!!
