Ok, our lads were rightly disappointed after going out in the World cup after beating Germany. That was pretty cruel to be honest :-(

However, they bounced back from that huge disappointment to beat Greece who I believe were ranked in the top 10 before our match. Those ranking points have seen us jump from 33rd to 30th in the World rankings and thus from 41st to 30th since taking over last season.

Now that we've got back into the top 32, we really need to try and maintain our position as hopefully that would make the next World Cup qualifying a little bit easier.

Hands up, we had an all-round bad day in the office today losing 4-0 :-( We didn't deserve anything from the game, however, they did score direct from a free-kick and scored a penalty too so I actually thought as a whole we defended fairly well. To top things off we also had Hennessey go down with an 18 day injury too. Considering Czech Republic are around 17th in the world, I'm hoping our ranking won't be affected too badly on the back of that ...

Ok, we've had 2 terrible friendly results on the trot now as we lost 5-1 today. Tbh, I hold my hands up because since the WC I've lost a bit of focus (apologies!). However today, I played a team of players aged 29 and under to see what the future might hold with these players. Tbh, what it proves is what I've thought for a while, that we need to play our best players all the time. The only problem is that our best 3 and most important players are either injured or terribly out of form and that has been the case for a long time :-( That being, Beckmann and our 2 star forwards :-( The other problem is that Beckmann is no spring chicken and will have to be replaced soon anyway ...

so replace him and build ;P
