Wow for some reason I thought the match was at 1, not 18:00 :( I wanted to watch it live.
Will watch it soon, very disappointed with the result though. France must have been extremely clinical.
2nd minute in I see we already missed a 1 on 1 :D

So one of the biggest things was Gallant vs Maire. He just could not keep up with him. For future games when I play our full squad like this I need to move Lajeunesse to the center to cover for our other center backs I think. Although if I'm being perfectly honest i'm not sure if Lajeunesse would be able to cover Maire in time, so all 5 goals he scored are pretty difficult to avoid :/
I tried Lombardo on the wing after we went a few goals down, and our stats in the game improved, which i'm surprised at because I feel like he didn't do too much out there. I will have to decide if I will continue trying him on the wings sometimes, or to always keep him more central. He did have some nice plays/combinations with our strikers in the second half of the game.
Our forwards are very shocking though, I counted 3 missed one-on-ones (1 first half, 2 second)
Next game we play with mainly u-27's, so the team will look quite a bit different.
Conclusion: Other than not being able to contain Maire, and our strikers missing 3 big chances, I don't think it was a terrible match, as the scoreline suggests.

I think their midfielders had too much freedom to move the ball and find holes to create the chances, and that's why I tried to cover the midfield with as much players as possible against these kind of opponents. But that's just how I see it, there are other ways to play for sure :)
Looking at their first 4 goals I don't think that was a huge problem tbh. On one of the goals for sure their mid was unmarked, but the other 3, 2 came from balls from the back, and then one came from a pass from their midfielder Cano, but McKenna failed a tackle on him.
When you say these kinds of opponents, you mean high rated right?

Also this player needs tech training badly: https://sokker.org/player.php?PID=36273986
He hasn't been playing recently, but the coach said back in march he would put him on the market at the start of this season.

Well France has great team great coach we cannot outplay them so only what could be done to eliminate the damage . Did not watch the game will try tomorrow but seems too much 6:0 based on stat
I altered some tactics, looking forward to using them next week :)
@terion is right playing 2 inner miss they have to be top class for such games heads up this season is ahead

When the team switched to 2 center mids we actually did better though :P I started with 3 mids and was getting dismantled by their one striker.
I'm going to try something next match, switch it up a little bit.

I've seen again the match to be able to express the feelings I had the first time:
First tactic: both tactics were very similar and the game seemed a ping-pong match. Their 3 goals were due to the great qualities of their players (MIDs and ATTs), not tactic mistakes. Maybe mostly bad luck, because the same that they could score, they could have failed
Second tactic: althought you gave them the midfield, placing McKenna and Grenier closer to the defense, it seemed to work better. The ping-pong here was more like tennis: the 2 defenses were more separated one from the other and the possessions were longer. But they got to score another 3 goals, also thanks to their good attacking skills rathar than from tactical mistakes
Althought different tactics, both of them gave us some good chances to score. But our strikers are not like theirs :)
I still believe it's risky to give so much space to a much better opponent - you never know where goal chances can come from. But I think the result doesn't reflect what we have seen in the field. Maybe one or two goals against would have been more fair

That's pretty much the way I saw it too.
I don't know if I'll regret it for next week, but I'm going to try something I've never done yet. I'm very accustomed to playing with 2 mids + winger or 3 strikers. But since we don't have top strikers I won't try to play with 3, and since no winger I will most likely steer away from that too.
I do like the first tactic I played with today for our current team even though it worked worse, but I've altered it and think it should be better (I made it slightly more defensive. Not a huge tweak. I think the offensive third is kept the same pretty much).
