Lithuania Results

1. Emilijus Kuèinskas will score more goals then Amado.
No. Both scored two. Both had marks in the 70s. Was surprised Amado’s was that high, as he did a fair bit of midfield work.

2. Lithuania midfielders will have more assists then Canada midfielders
Yes. Grybauskas got the assist on the winning goal. Dehere tried some through balls for Amado - was about the closest one of Canada’s middies came to an assist.

3. Lithuania will be leading at half-time.
No. Was tied up, but not looking very promising down a man.

4. Lithuania will "win" possession.
Yes. Barely. 51-49. Not bad considering the man situation.

5. Lithuania will "win" territory.
No. Even at the end of the match. Canada had a noticeable advantage after the first half, but that was erased in the second.

6. Canada will receive more cards (any colour) then Lithuania.
Yes. Double yes underscore bold. Playing the line aggressively invited some cards. But there are other colours then red Mr. Referee.

7. Canada will receive more injuries then Lithuania.
No. Blaþys gets a 25 day holiday courtesy of Olaf Lavrynenko.

8. A Canadian defender (player in the back-line) will have an assist.
Yes. Tho a buggy one. Bradshaw had shifted to the back line when he got his assist, tho the ball actually came off W Lavrynenko before Amado put it in. However, we will follow the official scorekeeper’s ruling.

9. Parker will make more saves then the Lithuanian keeper.
Yes. I had Parker on 3. Lithuanian keeper didn’t make any.

10. Lithuania will have a longer "consecutive" pass play then Canada.
No. Both teams were pretty direct. Lithuania made 4 successful passes on the play for the game winner, but there was a missed tackle in their, which to my way of thinking, breaks the streak.

The ... err ... tie-breaking system appears to be a little flawed. 3 people got the same number correct, and all identified the correct total goals. :D Will have a different tie-breaker next week.

Greece Results

No. Amado didn’t have a great match. Thought he would seem more explosive vs. the Greek defense. Didn’t strike the ball all that well (2 of 13).

2. A Canadian midfielder will score a goal.
No. O Lavrynenko came closest, rattling the woodwork for the second week in a row.

3. A Canadian defender (back-line) will have an assist.
No. Villanueva tried a few through balls, but the rest were content passing to midfielders. Thought getting the flank defenders involved in the offense would make a helper more likely.

4. Canada will have a multiple assist player.
No. The midfield provided some decent service. With so many Greek defenders it was hard to get through without some kind of touch.

5. Fichaud will make more tackles then Villaneuva.
No. Villanueva was the busy man in the back line. Made 6 tackles to Fichaud’s 4.

6. Canada will score a corner kick goal.
No. No corners surrendered by Greece.

7. Canada will score a penalty spot goal.
No. No penalties surrendered by Greece. Was surprised by this - thought Wang and Amado would be more of a nuisance in the 18 yard box.

8. Parker will have a clean sheet.
Yes. Wasn’t tested at all.

9. Canada will have a play of 5 (or more) consecutive passes.
Yes. Minute 61 - Iginla-Villanueva-Iginla-Lavrynenko-Caron-Wang. Scottie got into a good shooting position, but didn’t pull the trigger.

10. Canada will receive a card (any colour).
Yes. Almost goes without saying. :) Only yellow though - O’Hara picked it up.
