Results - Bolivia II
1. Parker will have a clean sheet.
Yes. One shot, one save. Way to go Tank!
2. Canada will score a rebound goal.
Yes. This was a pretty safe bet. The last 4 Canada goals (vs. Austria and Scotland) were all rebound goals. Seems the only way to score when facing a hot keeper. First goal today was a rebound goal. Didn’t keep track after that.
3. Canada will score a headed goal.
Yes. Think there were three. One on a nice cross from Ortega Santiago to Biron, the other two on Omar feeds to Amado and Biron.
4. Canada will have a multiple assister.
Yes. Two multiple assisters. Omar with 2 and Manohar the “target-man” with two.
5. Canada will have an assist from a back-line defender.
No. Wasn’t likely with 3 at the back. With the recent tweak to the ME I don’t think we will see as many of these. Wasn’t as much defender to striker passing in this match compared to last week, but still a fair bit.
6. Canada will have a play of 5 or more successive passes.
No. Didn’t see any longer then 4. Not surprising given the 343 formation. Ball gets to a striker without much build up.
7. Canada possession + play in Bolivia's territory >= 115
Yes. 125. Good ball recovery and control by the Canadian midfield.
8. A Black&Oil player will have a better pass% then an HL Football player.
No. Not sure how many expected the slick-passing Ortega Santiago in the line-up. He was my guess. Barrera was tops with 82%. Benefitted a little from 60 minutes in the center - made a number of easier mid-mid passes compared to the generally tougher mid-att passes by the wide guys.
9. A Canadian sub will make the score sheet (goal, assist, foul).
No. Very quiet day by the substitutes. Didn’t help they were mostly on the right side which wasn’t utilized nearly as much as the left side of the field.
10. Omar will have more fouls then assists.
Yes. Decent match from Omar (if you ignore his ghastly freekicks). I have no idea why a player with monster PM and no striking to speak of would twice attempt to score from ~40 yards.
