Subject: [NT] World Cup Contest
Good question. :) I've been wondering that for a few weeks now. :P My current thought is to "cross that bridge" when we come to it. :D
Those handicaping the Austria match might take notice that their unbelievably lucky keeper (Preiner) is out injured (he will of course be back for BiH), and that their top scorer (Locker) is SI and off-form. ;)
Greece II
1. A goal will be scored in the first 10 minutes.
Yes. The referee was bold enough to point to the spot in minute 2. Wang, who isn’t great with Pks (but way better then Amado) made no mistake.
2. A Canadian other then Amado will score a goal.
Yes. Wang with the hattrick, Iginla with a nice FK. For the second consecutive senior match Amado did not get a great deal of service.
3. The referee will call 5 or more fouls (both teams).
Yes. 8 fouls on Greece, 3 leading to PK opportunities. Canada played clean.
4. Parker will save a shot.
No. Oops. That’s what I get for posting the props early. :) Parker couldn’t save any shots in the trainer’s room.
5. Canada will be leading by 3 goals at half time.
Yes. A goal in the 44th minute gave the required cushion.
6. Canada will be leading by 6 goals at full time.
No. A late Greece goal took away the +5 I desperately wanted.
7. Canadian defense will have 8 or fewer panic kick outs.
No. Counted 9. Fichaud 5, Wagenaar 2, Abbas Musa 1, Bradshaw 1. Still much improved over last week.
8. Canada will have 3 or more assists.
No. 3 goals came off restarts. Both of Canada’s other markers were assisted.
9. Canada will have 20 or more shots.
No. Not even close. Due in large part to poorer service this time. Caron and O Lav, both out due to form, were missed.
10. There will be a red card (either team).
No. Called lots of fouls, but didn’t bring the cards out of his pocket very often.

It's looking more likely we could have a tie. That didn't cross my mind when I first set this up (when I did this in New Zealand, there was one manager who was uncanny and totally cleaned up). I think there are a couple of options.
1. Have a run-off in week 15 for those tied. I didn't intend to award the prize until week 0 anyway.
2. Of those tied, award the prize to the manager with the most 2nd place finishes (if still tied, 3rd, etc..).
Option #2 would have been better if I'd said it from the start. But considering this is a bit of an afterthought, Option #1 is probably more fair (and is what I'm leaning towards).
Thoughts? :)

I think we'll go with the extra week if a tie occurs. Either of the other options may have changed how people had played had they known.

9. Canada will have a 100% tackler (4 attempts minimum).
10. Lithuania will incur more offsides then Canada.
Tie Breaker: pick result & score of the Austria - BiH match.
(Resolved by result first, then margin, then goals - if still a tie, the "over" will be declared the winner). No duplicates please. :)
