surprise package jokers and hackers' fairytale run ends at the hands of an 11-0 trashing by TBF (the heartless bastards :P)

safely through to the next round. Won 1 - 0, but had 13 shots to 0, and the majority of the ball was in their defensive half, so I was never really threatened once I found the back of the net. Although Beauchamp and Garland consistently denied my side more shots.

Only really disappointing thing is the injury to Alagich. Haven't checked it yet, fear its a 32 day injury although I seriously hope not. *Goes to check now*

Edit: 14 days :(. Still better than what I was expecting so I guess I won't complain too loud, could have been a lot worse.

Meh.

Injury to Mendes for 19 days though which is incredibly annoying. He's one of my key midfield trainees so it happened to the wrong player.

well sadly, if you go in with a defense like the default tactic defenses, you're going to have a great deal of difficulty stopping TBF from scoring a truckload. They're hard enough as it is to make it tougher on yourself.

Still jokers and hackers got quite a way through the cup and that was a decent achievement.

From the next round the only 2 teams I probably don't really want to draw is Froggies and Losers. Both have the potential to pull off a good run and defeat my side, has happened in the past.

ahh well i lost however i am not that unhappy with that result lost 10-2 to chelsea f.c and 2 a team members injured i can live with that :)

Seems like all the II.02 teams were involved in upsets - Shore Chillz, Sheffield Wednesday and Aussie Bhoys!

TBF... No sense of occasion.

A comfortable 3-0 result for me in what I thought would be a very tough game. My A-team did a great job in dominating the midfield and creating chances up front. Taigum Terriers seemed to suffer from insufficient technique.
Good game to win, a confidence builder, despite losing the best player in my side to injury... to miss 2 cup games.

10 shots to 4 producing a 0-2 victory. Pretty happy with that all things considered as I put out a fairly weird lineup to try and salvage some training this week. (Don't get me wrong Tong, I still thought it was a good enough lineup to win the game)

Goes to show just how misleading team-ratings can be. A big component of our "excellent" shooting, was comprised from our defensive wings.

wow, seems to be a lot of injuries happening today... just picked up a slight injury and a 31 day injury (to my 33yo keeper, who thankfully i'm sacking as soon as i can find a replacement)

I have drawn Melbourne Victory in the next round.

Time to unleash hell on the tards!

Damn, i have to play gondor. As if playing him in the league wasnt enough.

I've drawn Frogmeisters15. They knocked me out of the cup 3 seasons ago and could well do it again.

That could have easily been a lot closer mate. You still had a decent team on the pitch. My advice is to work on developing a much better tactic by looking at some good sides. Your defence formation was just asking for a whooping ;)

I've got Shore ChillS next. I'll cope I reckon.

Gah, and now Beauchamp has a red card! He's the only player I have that is worth something.

Most of my guys that came with my team when I started, and they are all either originals or youth players.

BTW, Beauchamp's passing has increased, so one more level and then technique (or maybe technique now?)
2008-03-06 13:22:21
Yeah having him suspended as a result has got to be a bit annoying, especially given how good he is.

As for your idea of one more level then technique that sounds fine to me.
