Well we ended up with a 1 - 0 win, and restricted them to only 3 shots. Disappointed Leijer got injured, but was pleased with the effort a lot of the newer faces put in.
We have Norge next week. Really if we have any chance of progressing we have to win that game. Should be a good challenge.

Well the world cup gets underway tomorrow and we get to take on Norge again. Tactic will be designed later tonight, I have some ideas already about how we plan to go about the match. Any suggestions as always are welcome if users feel they would like to comment. I'll do a bit of a writeup a little later as well.

well we're set. Not sure how the cards are going to fall and although their NT manager hasn't logged in since 6 days, I'm sure they've set us a tactic which will challenge us. Whatever the outcome is we will keep fighting all the way.
They've got their usual keeper out injured which gives us a confidence boost but we still need to go out and play well.
We've beaten them before, so a win is what I am aiming at which would be a huge sigh of relief because we then have a great chance of qualifying from the group. Losing this game is not an option if we wish to progress, considering we have to play Italy last.
Fortunately we only have a few minor issues with form but we should be able to cover it. We are also fortunate not to have any major injuries.
I hope everyone enjoys the game, win , lose or draw.
If this game ends in a result other than a draw, it also adds pressure onto the Slovensko manager who plays Italy later in the day.

Newhill wasn't good enough, Hrehoresin wasn't good enough, Ando wasn't good enough, Byers wasn't good enough. Shame that everyone except Zdrilic had a bad day all on the same day.

I saw the match and I have to say, that it was very cruel for Australia :-(

Was pretty mediocre tbh. Not really happy at all with the result. Our strikers couldn't score and they took every chance they had virtually and to add insult to wounds they scored from a very long way out.
Time to rebuild and try and knock off Slovensko next week but it was fairly average today.

Well tbf Byers came in at 60 minutes and didnt get to see a lot of ball. I thought the only decent players today were Zdrilic, King and Broxton went alright. The rest were woeful, but it could just be the scoreline that makes it seem that way because we set up chances for our strikers to only find a way to butcher them and then they get one pass down the other end and score.
The tactic wasn't bad, though I didn't liked Widera - he was too far from the defs..also the central mids weren't moving forward with the action, so there was no possibility to make an action other than pass to Zdrilic and "Run Forrest run!" or pass to strikers and shot/loosing ball.
Lot's of good low passes from Zdrilic.

Newhill was disappointing. Striking is virtually useless on strikers now. May as well play someone with divine pace under this system :(.
Pace is also useless at the moment...maybe not at 100% but you have to have a great mids to play through balls. I have divine and unearthly paced strikers and I don't remember when I last scored after through ball....

I don't know what Newhill's PM is like, but early on he had plenty of chances if he'd only pull the trigger. I was yelling GO, HIT IT, COME ON, NOO!!!
