Subject: National Team

I don't know what Newhill's PM is like, but early on he had plenty of chances if he'd only pull the trigger. I was yelling GO, HIT IT, COME ON, NOO!!!

Nothing to do with his PM, tbh. He was just set too high up in the tactic, thus making him try running to his intended destination.

Now that Byers' stam is enough to sustain an entire match i think he should start at some point, thats usually where his impact shows for me.

Just a biased suggestion though =p

actually I've been aware of that situation, but i don't think it was that, I just think Newhill had to big an ego to dribble right up to the keeper instead of shooting. So many chances and he choked on all of them, including the penalty.

Maybe it's due to his high striker skill. I have two strikers - Pawlusinski and Manuszewski. The first one has same and from few weeks higher technique than striker skill and he always tries to dribble etc, while Manuszewski who has lower technique than striker very often tries to shoot.

It's weird but some strikers just seem to under perform so badly whilst others over perform. Just means we need a result against Italy now, either a draw or a real lucky win.

Won't be easy...I really doubt it :(
Though...if you get much better result with Italy than Norge, Slovensko will beat Norge and you will beat Slovensko...then..:)

Such a harsh result given the game.

Horrible game from Newhill. He had 5 shots but probably should have had 10. Its also hard to believe that we were awarded a "very good" shooting rating, to their "good" given the finishing.

Tough break cometer. "That's football" and all that jazz, but sheesh, I just couldn't believe the difference in finishing, and then to see their individual and team striking rating... what can you do?

Slovensko lost their A and B keepers for our game, how nasty is that?

Not quite as nasty as our scoreline but very useful for our cause and will be interesting to see if we can knock off slovensko next week.

Considering how well Norge's B keeper (hehe) did against us, it might be a bad omen.

hehe I don't think Norge's keeper went well, I think when you waste shots by shooting at the keeper rather then the net, you're asking for trouble :p. Newhill and Hrehoresin were both extremely disappointing in front of goal. Guess it goes to show striking isn't that important considering they are our best strikers yet they rarely perform like it.

if you honestly think striking isnt doing the trick for us, richter and storey may be worth giving a crack with their pace/tech combo?

Think players as Richter and Storey are needed as well. Need players that can take on a few players even if they are not the best at striking.

Got a few millions here, wanna sell them to me? ;)

certainly something to think about between now and the next match.
