In other news, tossing up potential lineups for the game against Venezuela in 2 hours. Got a preliminary list of players, now I've got to work out the best way to use them. Our midfield is still exceptionally under par. Certainly doesn't help for a game.
One definite withdrawal is Maras due to owner request, other than that everyone is eligible although a few players have significant form problems which has killed their chance of playing.
Hopeful of a win but I'm pretty sure on paper Venezuela will have a stronger side then us.

Play 5 at the back and 5 up front. Midfield problems solved!
technically impossible to play 5 up front :P
actually no it's not, it's actually quite feasible ;). All that happens is that players who play don't get the slight NT training bonus but who cares if they play 90min league matches and 10min friendly it works out the same anyway. In saying that though, would be a rather ugly game to watch and I haven't gone 5-0-5.
Well we're set. Have no idea how this is going to turn out, when making the tactic on the 1st iteration it was like randomly building stuff from lego trying for ideas. Then it seemed to look like a potential tactic, although I then had to more or less fiddle around to get it consistent across the pitch and into something our players can handle. Few debutants, some people will get an absolute kick out of a certain player playing whilst others will be happy to see their players perform well and score points for the competition.
OMGWTF what a scorcher from wirrapanda! eagles fans will be happy ;)
Well researched tactic cometer
First two strikes for us were impressive!
44' what a save from Pottier!
55' So close for Hunter... minutes later he's off injured.

losing hunter hurt a bit, our highest passer in the team. We lacked a striker with high technique, we had all the power shooters firing but they're both a little short on technique which is where Maras would have come in handy. In saying that though, Pottier saved some crackers from Venezuela to keep them scoreless. Abreu defended well until he tired, but Morton struggled as a replacement defender, although will be able to handle that by this time next season.
Thought tactically things went alright, fk taker obviously backfired, was actually anticipating fouls just outside the box in range for striking so gave it to Wirrpanda but that didn't actually end up happening as planned. Clearly our mids need improvement but they'll get there. Defensively we were pretty solid.

yeah who took the corner? Was it Gardiner or Kalac?
kalac. highly amusing ;)
seemed like you neednt worry about the midfield, since they practically left a hole there for you to exploit

Kalac attempted to pass to Gardiner... Didn't quite come off like in practice.
Wirra and Bowen both looked to have competitive speed (at least at U21 level) and with their strikes from range I presume have reasonable striker.

yeah which is why I was trying to create ideas from random selective placements in areas I wasn't expecting them to cover. Wasn't surprised they went in with the tactic they did. They used that in their last U21 game back in week 4, so I had a good feeling they'd whip that out again and hence gave myself an easier time at generating the tactic.
Still I'd swap the victory this morning for the loss we had last week :(. Good to see we're back on a winning streak though.

wow morton is only 20! (after age updates) he has a bright future
yeah well both do have strong levels of pace for U21, still not Maras speed though, they both only really lack technique.
Your assumptions would be reasonably accurate though.
