gotta admit it was quite funny though when muscat and sharpley both headed against the bar in quick succession
It was funny temporarily, afterwards it was just frustration ;).
Tasks to achieve before the 30th August:
1) Update database with skills (so if you haven't updated players, expect to get a skmail within the next week. So in that case any updates into the NTDB before hand is appreciated. Means I have to send off less skmails).
2) Trim the NTDB down. Might have to look at chopping off some dead wood to reduce the number of players over the age of 21, particularly those in their late 20's who can't even make it from the archive list into the normal list.
3) Eliminate the weeds from the NT squad and plant new seeds into the squad that deserve to be there.
So that's roughly the plan that I'll be trying to achieve before 30th August, will take me ages but it's part of the process and I haven't had a mass clearout of the NT squad for a number of seasons now and it's well overdue. Some players like Papaluca, Stewart, Morton, Villafane and Byers are all coming through and they might require places in the NT squad :).

yep we've got him. He's not upto 1st XI standard yet though.
not unless he's improved since June. Defending wise he's right up there but lacks the pace necessarily for the team. We've got something like 20 defenders @ unearthly defending or better. When I started we may have had 1.

What about doing a Player of the Year for NT and even U21 Brownlow style? Each week the NT/U21 manager and a different active Australian community member watches the match and gives a 3-2-1 score based on their own impressions of who played the best in the match. Each week the score is recorded resulting in an exciting end of season countback (minus hot girlfriends). Each year, the player of the year will be recorded resulting in untold glory for that player and his manager. Also the process would encourage more participation in the NT among the community and increase the sense of history for the NT team and recognise great performances and consistency.
We could call the medal the Uberfurious medal ;) or even better, take a vote to pick the favourite all time great Australian player so far to name the medal after.

Bahaha, have you been reading the brains trust forum? This idea was brought up just before the end of the WCQ season, and we have just been deciding whether we did it for last season, or whether we started this season :)

I was going to say the EXACT same thing as Achmid! Have you been given access to the Brains trust forums or something? I find it hilarious that it has been brought up within a month of it being suggested in there! :P
I'm going to do similar thing in Belgie, already done it in Poland ;) though everyone from the country will be able to vote for the best players...
