Nice comfortable win today against Greece.

The Royce Beauchamp/Carl Storey combo was deadly today.

I'd have hoped so given it was meant to be an U24 v U24 game and we used our 1sts against their U25's, well at least given by what TM said here about a fortnight ago.

But yeah, the Storey/Beauchamp combo worked very well which was nice to see. I'm use to the Storey break, Storey miss combo but fortunately that didn't happen today.

Since when Malasia has such a good team? Wow :p

they've been steadily improving over the seasons, though it's really we've stagnated. We've been getting 64's 65's for a while now, other sides which were getting the same are now getting 70's. Also there hasn't been much happening tactically for the past month or two with the exception of the Belgie game which was largely my doing anyway.

FFS.... first game back in division II and Royce is injured in a meaningless game.

Wow, I'd forgotten how hectic the first few days are after taking over a NT, thankfully guys like cometer and Minkee have been around today to help me get up and running so thanks a lot guys.

What I'd like to ask is probably very predictable but could any users with a national team player please send me updates asap please. Also if you have a player who you feels deserves a mention, dont be shy. Send me his stats and I'll let you know what I make of his chances.

I'm still in the early stages of going through the database so I wont be issuing any minimum requirements just now but expect an update on that front shortly.

There are 3 ways that you can update your players.

The first and easiest way is to simply copy and paste your player and send him in a sk mail to myself

Secondly, you can update your player manually by visiting the DB at NTDB

Thirdly, if you are using Opera or firefox and you have oSokker installed then you can simply click the flag in the players profile.

If you need to Install oSokker then you can go HERE if you are using firefox

Or HERE if you are using Opera.


In the coming hours I hope to announce the names of two Australian users who will be aiding me in my NT duties so if preferred you can also sk mail these guys or bombard them with any questions that you may have :)

Yeah, first few days are by far the busiest and to a similar extent the last day before end of elections is too (unless you know you're going to be re-elected).

All my players have been updated, I'd done that manually into the NTDB. Most of my changes are currently in the U21 category though and probably won't be senior material for a few seasons.

An interesting mix of matches there, all should be winnable games except possibly Belgium and Croatia, depending on the format.

We should be pretty competitive in the Mini World Cup, we've managed to finish runner up twice and made the semi final the other time iirc. So much depends on the draw though because Portugal aren't going to be exactly easy to beat, neither is Canada. Avoiding those 2 is probably a good start.

If you can reproduce anything like you did with Scotland, we're in pretty good hands. Looking forward to the season.

Thanks, I haven't arranged any set criteria for any games as I wanted to see exactly what we have available first. Like you say Belgium and Croatia are top teams but the rest so far aren't too far off us in world rankings ratings, Hayastan apart.

Hrvatska and Scotland have now confirmed and the list above has been ammended.

One more friendly to arrange, to balance it up I want a 90th ranked nation....or maybe Hellas will play us in an 24 match ;)

I am now happy to confirm that both Uberfurious and Blagoja have joined the national team management squad. Amongst other things their duties will include scouting, an input into our weekly fixtures and the upkeep of the NTDB.

my only 2 senior players worth mentioning, ellem and sharpley are updated. ellem is probably useless to you unless we have horrendous injuries or form in the striking department, or if you're playing a C/D team match. not to mention he's probably more or less past training age

sharpley, on the other hand, will hopefully make the senior team in a season or two as i get his striker, then pace up. he's not going to be my primary trainee anymore though, most of the focus has shifted onto getting durante to a passable U21 level barring form, and o'neill to be the next successor of the U21 striker(s) spot :)

With the pace and striker training Sharpley will definately have a chance of featuring in the coming seasons :)

In other news....


The seasons fixtures are now complete and can be seen a few posts up. An exit before the final of the mini wc would see further friendlies arranged but we'll worry about that if and when it happens.

I have a first team squad put together now and working on an U25/future squad.
As well as using these folders to monitor upcoming players this will also serve as a back up db and I'll be happy to mail copies to one or two users so that they are also safely in Australian hands.

Whilst looking about,I came across a player or 3 who the db seems to have missed out and some of them look like they could be quite useful. I'm still waiting for updates on them but here's a guy who going on value alone looks like he could go straight in to the squad on Saturday..

Talking of the squad, in the coming weeks I plan to move a few of the players on and bring in some new blood. The players who will be leaving us haven't featured for a while so nobody should be shocked at their removal but if anybody has a player removed and wants to know exactly why then please sk mail and I'll explain my reasons.

I'd also like to start a similar thread to this one in the Australian Association. In there we can discuss things best kept away from open forums. If there is a market for it then I'll be happy to post the team line up, tactics, my plans and expectations etc for upcoming matches, usually on a Thursday after the form updates. Other secrets could also be revealed.......;)

If anybody needs to join the Association click on "Australia" on the left menu then in the middle of the page next to the map there is a link saying Australian Association. Click that and apply. All Australians will be accepted and it's free!

Lastly for now, I'll have the dream team competition up and running over the weekend so hopefully you'll all join up :)

How's our squad looking for the future?

Looking to next season's WCQ campaign...
We have a few defender trainers with quality prospects. How about the other positions?

I'm still waiting on a few updates and have yet to complete the future mids and strikers

The key players in the squad just now are still young enough to feature next season and with some decent looking 24/25 year olds coming through we may even be a bit stronger. It'll probably be next week before I can answer that question in depth, a certain Mr Claus is hampering my progress a little this week :)

I have however noticed a slight weakness in the squad and it was also noticed by Uber but I'll post more about that in the Association once I have a fuller picture.
