or hack into the Vietnam NT manager's account!!!
Well the positive is we at least grab some ranking points for the extra time win. Still dark on that opening goal we conceded, after I pointed it out last week against Costa Rica ;).
So where to from here since we're out of the MWC? Ranking point improvement to get a decent Qualification run next season I suppose?

Very harsh all the same...after their goal, we dealt with that type of play easily for the rest of the game. How many 'one on ones' with their GK did we have? & Thompson missing from point blank after just coming on?!! Shouldn't happen at that skill level. :-(
Would like to have seen 2 strikers given we needed a result by a margin....espesh the way they were set up....their back 5 didn't move as a unit unless the ball was in either pen area.
CR = a far better team than Portugal IMHO.

For the opening goal we were undone by a through ball which meant Stewart never had time to get into position, I had him set right where the strikers were :(
You can see from the throw in min 30 and a cross from a similar area to the goal in min 32 that Stewarts in the right place.
The def mids wern't set too much further than halfway unless we had a throw in on their side but Stewart had just lost out in a tackle in the centre circle which led to him being caught out in getting back.
There was also a def set to step up, on which ever side the wing attack was coming from, the near post def should step up, I think he was half going for the winger though after he got passed Mangos.
So, dont be too dark, I did listen, just still needs some fine tuning I guess :)
On your other point, Yes for sure. I wanted to finish the season in the top 30 and that is the sole aim now.

Ah ok, yeah I must admit I wasn't looking at DM's positioning, I just saw the nice space when the chance came ;). I'll watch again and retract my statement if that is the case :).

Well excluding extra time, I don't think we had many one on ones at all that ended in shots at goal. Most of the 1 on 1's went to Portugal. Again I'll rewatch because I've already been corrected once tonight (I was kinda busy watching the Victory clean up the Glory :D).
As for Thompson missing, that's probably easily explainable, he doesn't have striking and at that level if you don't have striking against a superdivine keeper you just don't score very often from any position ;).

Our next two opponents will be
week 6 Indonesia
week 7 Canada.
I have still to arrange fixtures for weeks 8 and 9.

In a couple of weeks we will play Scotland in an U26 match. So if you fancy your next big thing in Australia to get some game time for the national team, can you please update your player in the ntdb (and then keep them updated). I'll also be sk mailing managers requesting updates.
Not that Auldreekie really wants to win this particular game or anything... ;)

Why'd you have to go and spoil it :p. Some of us already knew and were in "thinking" stage :p.
Because I'm not rich and the next best thing to having fun is spoiling someone else's!
I'm not really rich either. I've only got 18m in the bank and that's nothing really. I'd consider myself middle class though :p.
Ouch. I'm not even quite sure I remember when I last had that little, I get that much in sponsorship a week almost :p.
