I don't rate height that much, pace+defence+technique concern me a lot more when it goes to chosing central defenders :). Height is factor nr. 4...
With fully trained Barnes and Erdogan we will be in a really good situation for next qualifications, I must take a closer look to the improvement of defenders cause for such high defensive line tactic their sideskills are really, really important...maybe even pivotal at a point.

nobody had better passing (?)...just a bit surprised, that's all.
Better than Patterson has? Not really...Agostino - yes, I probably should've used a different player. Midtsian would be my primary choice, but he was red carded. I also hope Hunter will get back to formm he would be really useful. It's not all that bad though, all in all I'm very satisfied with the level of defenders, it's just a matter of getting to know how to use them to their full potential. Still learning :)
Mrdja is slowly getting his sideskills up, 5 secondary pops in 18 weeks of secondary training.
Good you noticed :). Agostino,Patterson and Maras were the surprise options for me. You should not have played Agostino in such a high pressing environment on the wing. 95% of teams use wingers, so if you get unlucky with your placement every attacking raid Agostino does risks turnover and a goal. Happened 3 times today and punished us on each occasion. Morton would have been a better choice and had Agostino where Morton was if we had no one else.
The only only negative which ties in to the Agostino situation was that you pushed our midfielders back into the defense line making it essentially a 6 man defense, 2 dm, 2 forwards. That allowed Schweiz to expose Agostino as it forced him forward out of the line into their midfielders who easily tackled him and ran off with the ball.
All in all it was a much better performance, still not perfect, but a lot better. We at least were in the game up until about 30min to go.

Yeah, I must think more about the defenders. I was afraid that Agostino will have problems with stopping the through balls because of his technique, but it turned out that it was even worse. Oh well, at least it was a more equal game, that's always good news. If it was another 0:6 with 0 shots I'd be quite sad...:P
Our rank position deteriorated a bit, but we only have a one killer game ahead of us until next WC Q. session.
It was:
32 Lietuva 2356.85
33 Bulgaria 2325.25
34 Canada 2319.48
35 Australia 2293.25
36 Scotland 2260.20
Now it's:
32 Lietuva 2380.05 [+24]
33 Bulgaria 2345.27 [+20]
34 Canada 2277.17 [-42!!]
35 Australia 2267.42 [-26]
36 Scotland 2234.05 [-26]
Not that bad, we're closing in on Canada - only 10 points left!

3:0 with a total control of the game, 5:1 would've been more reasonable though.
A win's a win though. Lucky for me that Erdogan was only SI.
We may not qualify but if we keep winning games we'll be in with a better chance next time :).

Yeah, it's good to see Erdogan not losing any trainings.
And yeah, wins won't hurt I guess...if we manage to keep the current tempo till end of next season, then I can't see us out from 2nd pot.

Ok, I'm back. I had a ban for a silly joke about doves...:p
Two wins, 20:0 was a nice one, the 2:0 against Bolivia...not bad at all considering we had to play with 10 players since 20'.
Now it's time for Italy so...yeah.

Well it's nothing that bad...actually I still don't know why I got the ban [10 days + 50 000 $ fine :D].
There was a topic about doves on Polish Freestyle forum and a couple of users went on complaining about the doves shitting all over the city.
I just wrote that if someone wants to actually kick the dove with his shoe, then one should aim about 20-30cm above the dove in the direction where that particular dove is looking at the moment - quite big try/hit ratio.
Someone though that my post was a...provocation :p
