Yeah, but still - our superdivine and divine defenders in form couldn't tackle them while Barnes was being tackled easily...and Barnes has superdivine form :).

Once our s-divine defender was tackled in front [in the end of the game] - weird.

anyway, 3pts is all that matters, though the tactic needs a lot of tweaking.

we're through to next round by the way

Hellas 6pts
Australia 4pts
China 1pt
Moldova 0pts

next week we play Hellas for first place in the group but they luck pretty tough, made 76.4 average today - no wonder with over 1k users...
2011-11-12 13:23:56
China could still get us with a few goal win, and us a couple of goal loss
2011-11-12 13:34:19
true, but I doubt that they will win against Moldova...
2011-11-19 09:24:05
A 2:2 draw, not bad I guess? Nothing special though.
2011-11-19 09:33:32
The level of defenders' sideskills is what kills us most of the times I guess. Neill gave to goals to Hellas today and most of their situations came from our defenders passes/lost dribbles...

Barnes has 99 goals already so he's right in front of the 100 club - and still has many years to play.

Anybody keeps track of top NT scorers?

Hate to be critical after that but seriously, you need to get over your substitution fantasy, your theory does not stand up (it's twice we've been stung by that same mistake now). Substitutions should make the team more competitive, not less. Griffiths is nowhere in the vicinity of Erdogan and it clearly showed as we did not beat the outside defender at all once Griffiths came on. 2ndly you put Lozanovski on (with low stamina, middle ranged form and weaker skills) over Bowyer who is in top form and was having a brilliant game.

I think you may be overthinking how much stamina impacts players over the course of a game. Whilst there is obviously some effect, it's not anywhere near as much as to resort to dropping player skills as significant as you did today. The original players would still have been better.

2-2 is a good result though against Hellas. That qualifies us to the next stage in 2nd though, so we're going to have a tough road to make the final.

I did, I haven't updated for a few seasons but I can update it quick enough. I'll send you a list when I'm done. Most of Barnes 99 goals likely came from U21's though which I actually intend to separate out of the stats I collect.

I think that Griffiths didn't really get a chance to show his skills because he didn't get a good ball. pace&tech wise he isn't worse than Erdogan is, so the substitution didn't affect our capability of breaking through the defence.

Look at Erdogan's pace in the beginning of the game and at the end - there's a difference...

Bowyer was having a good game but it's a thing you never know when setting up the subs. The main reason I subbed him was that I was afraid he might get a yellow and in consequence a red card.

Well that might be true, I'm prone to overthinking things :p.

The result is fine, but the performance...well it was decent, except Barnes was cut off from passes for long time and Puca seemed kind of useless in that position, except for defensive throw ins. Also the passing of side defenders was woeful, but I have an idea how to fix that one.

It might be a hard game next week, we will see. Some tough teams in the competition.

Sounds great. :)

Hardly surprising considering you took away a player capable of winning the ball and you also took off a central midfielder who provided a lot of the front foot ball. You must have updated stats of Griffiths then because they're not even close in comparison on the NTDB. Erdogan's stats haven't been updated on the NTDB either just quietly, I'd still be pretty confident Erdogans skills are significantly better and then he was also in superdivine form as opposed to magical.

I can't say I noticed any difference honestly. Obviously I'd imagine some drop off but not huge (1 level perhaps).

If that's what you thought, use the yellow card conditional order, not the automatic sub ;).

I'm not against substitutions, I actually think there is a benefit to them, but the players replacing the existing ones need to have similar skill set to actually enhance the performance.

I'm not saying Griffiths is better, but when looking only at pace and tech they are equal.

Bowyer's sub probably did have an impact on how many ball went forward, but as I've said, how could've I known that. Lesson for the future:).

Hm...to be fair I always used only the 'always' and 'if red card' - haven't thought about that one. :P

but when looking only at pace and tech they are equal.

So Griffiths has a sum total of 33 then for pace and tech? Does he have the passing/playmaking and defender skills of Erdogan? Strongly doubt it. A winger needs more than just pace/tech and I just thought the substitution came at the wrong time and needed to occur later as Erdogan was still creating havoc.

Learn something new every day then :p. Surprised you were unaware of that order. It's also better because just like the red card order it tracks every minute after the minute you set. I haven't had to use it too often fortunately so I'm not entirely sure if it applies for substitutions but I'm pretty sure it does.

Anyway, all things aside we're through the group :).

You know I shouldn't respond to that question, but you can make out the answer yourself...:P

I'd have even thought Laurie and Haliti were closer to Erdogan than Griffiths.

Well the sub turned out badly that's true, Erdogan was still making the job done when he went off.
Lauire might have a better sumskill than Griffiths but lacks one of the main skills...

As for the yellow card order, well...I just never used it so I kind of forgot about it. :P

We're taking on Canada this week. Could've been better, could've been worse. We played them a couple of weeks ago and won 3:1, let's hope it wasn't just an accident :p

Finally a proper performance. Great game for all players, except for Barnes - how can you miss SO MANY 100% situations? Oh well.

The game was one sided I guess, the defensive movement worked perfectly. Really good game of Erdogan, he was unstoppable.
2011-11-27 03:35:17
Good result. Should have won by more though, however, it's not your fault when your strikers decide they'd rather be somewhere else then on the football pitch.
2011-11-27 12:25:42
:)

We're 46pts behind place nr. 32 in the rank so we can really make it, would be wonderful.

I'm glad with game against Canada, finally a trully good tactical performance in this season, previous matches were a bit disappointing.
