True, NZ outscored us, but they made only 4 shots more

look at the report..the engine killed me after 25 minutes
i played almost 70 min with only a striker because of the 2 consecutive injuries on the same position

True, NZ outscored us, but they made only 4 shots more. Finishing was a bit of an issue today...

Yeah, the finishing was poor which is unfortunate as we could well have scored another 5-6 easily on a better day, but it wasn't helped by not having a player up with the striker to collect the rebounded balls or overcooked crosses.

It's quite disturbing as in last WC quals we played against al-jazair, who is on similar level to Nicaragua, and we've won 20:0. And we used one striker then as well...

Really we should have used 2-3 strikers (yes even in this engine I believe 3 strikers has its place). We could have gone in with 3 at the back and not be worried to concede a goal as we'd score even more.

You're lucky ;). Austria only managed 4 against Egypt after having 25 shots to 0.

Still, they should be able to kill Nicaragua by higher amount of goals than we will be able to score against Misr :p

Will try to make a surprise though...and Misr is quite a threat, they almost got a draw against Turkiye!

I think that was a little lucky and a fairly ordinary tactic from Turkiye

Decent win, considering how many players we couldn't use [Drum, Griffiths, Stewart, Hunter, Mrdja + Puca, Huxley out of form]

I don't know what the fuck happened in '74, fuck this game
2012-03-24 09:41:41
really akward...you should report this bug

but the qualifications are still to be played...

LMFAO. that is the worst tactical change ever Borkos. You should be sacked!

Surely they have to replay the game!!
2012-03-24 10:46:56
Obviously they just forgot to break out of the huddle....

Keep us updated on whether this match will be replayed.
It's very unfortunate, because even in a replay, it will be hard to replicate how well we were doing.

I doubt it will be replayed as I'd be almost entirely confident borkos screwed the tactics up. I don't even know why you'd bother changing tactic if we were drawing, it doesn't make sense when a draw is sufficient enough.

Anyway tops off a string of weird decisions. Subbing Erdogan off for Fihaki as well as Barnes for Drum was perhaps the worst possible move you could have made bar subbing Elrich off. When defending with 9 players you can't take off your only 2 players that were creating any form of offense, it's stupidity. I've been through this before, Erdogans the best winger we have (Griffiths a very close 2nd). Why take off your best player when he's so far ahead of your next available that stamina drop will account for nothing. Subs are for keeping the same level not weakening them. Similar with Barnes, Drum rarely fires well and doesn't have the same abilities that Barnes has regardless of form. I actually thought we were dead then, then the tactic change happened. I hope for borkos it was a system issue but I'd doubt it as it didn't happen to Turkiye or any other game I've ever seen.

Its not possible to tactic players so close!
2012-03-24 12:34:43
he means changing to a tactic that no longer exists (ie a null tactic that if it happens at the start of a game, would mean you forfeit or lose 5-0).

I hope its a game issue and not a silly mistake too, however, we are not out of WCQ yet, it's just a bit of a stepping stone
2012-03-24 13:00:00
If that is the case I don't blame Borkos. Reverting to forfeit instead of past tactic is a joke.
