not exactly. You've got to take into account the 1.6k per week for the youth spot of Lawton ;). So probably more like 3m difference :p.

3.4m more likely...
that's YS cost + 1/20 of coach wages :p

he's very popular already eh?!
2009-04-04 12:49:14
true :p. Even if he was there for 20 weeks, it wouldn't have cost too much more than 5 figures rather than 7 figures.

No doubt they'll be fighting on the pitch as well ;).

Lucky draw tonight ;). Should have probably got done by 5 or 6.

Too many things wrong with that choice of tactic ;). Don't see the point in using multiple subs on strikers when clearly defenders were more important to sub off. Once they tired we were shot to pieces.

You can't blame Ielati for that one... :)
2009-04-17 15:01:12
thing that irritates me is that's the kind of luck we need tomorrow not tonight :p. Now it probably won't happen. We'll give it our best shot though :).

Confidence davio.. otherwise we might have to call you C*meter ;)

Probably would have had a better tactical choice by using one of my club tactics... with 3 at the back, and 2 wing backs..

It would have been much better if our keeper didnt try to hit the winger from every single kick! would have been much nicer if he had have tried to kick to Stewart or Villafane in the middle.

Absolutely lucky ;)

That's usually what happen when there's a winger on the field...

edit: I watched the first 30mn and that's what happen, most GKs go towards Puca... a lot depends on his positioning on the field. Something to remember for the future.

Seriously tho, Israel never really looked dangerous until they scored their first goal from about 25 yards out! You dominated the possession because you were getting the ball from every keeper kick out. A draw is a fair result, we certainly looked much more dangerous when our strikers had the ball at their feet, continuously dribbling one or two of their defenders then getting tackled just before they could get the shot off.

A game of if i did this, if i did that, things would have been different.. But we came out with a draw, it just shows the efficiency of our strikers and the quality of our defence up until the last 20 mins. Probably should have subbed on Prentice as a Wide def, or even played with a tactic that my club uses so well, but it was not to be. 2-2 is a fair result imo.

The kickouts went to Puca because all the midfielders were out of range. Consequently they went to Puca because I think he was the most open.

I thought Israel looked dangerous on a number of occasions before they scored but we've obviously got different opinions :). I know I have different opinions when I'm the one in control. Just wait until tonight ;).

Tactically we could have shut out about 10-12 of those 23 shots too with a few minor adjustments but it wasn't to be, but we still escaped with a handy draw :).

Nice win. Surprised NZ didn't try to use Kightley as a high technique/high striker player who once in behind could capitalise. I'm guessing it's either due to a slight lack in pace or the mediocre form level.

Never really seemed like losing that game, a few times we got exposed at the back but we were able to keep them out.

A couple of things to point out this week.

1st, Current 21YO players will no longer be able to play for the U21NT as they will be turning 22 on Friday and thus no longer fall under the U21 age bracket.

Therefore 2nd, We will be playing Island in a current U20 match, with players who will be 21 and younger as at Friday will be playing this week. Any tactical ideas welcome!

3rd. Who's running for the U21 Manager in the new Elections?? As much as I would like to, a 9 week holiday through Europe, I cannot justify running again for next season. It was always in my plans to run for a single season to get the U21's set up for managers to follow on with.

I vote borkos, minkee or vivski :)

Let's have cometer run the whole show ;)

Or Naph so someone else could have a run for the title :p
