4th and two of them above has 14 pace... But strikers are good to have to sub with

We dominated todays match heavily, but with 10-3 shots in our favour we lost 1-2.

Im getting really tired of bad results this season, but many of the matches were undeserved, which hurts so bad

In isolation and without seeing it, does look like you were hard done by there. That being said I’d need to watch to see where our chances v their chances came from. Wonder if being a little more offensive would have resulted in a different result. A back 5 and 3 narrow mids looks to be a bit excessive if we’re the better side.

That was kind of my impression too.

We should have won, and had enough chances to win, but being the outright favourites, I'd like to give more opportunities to set up shots (ie couple of forwards and a winger, and just 4 at the back).

In u21s where players aren't well rounded and there are deficiencies, the back 5 tends to be overkill unless you're going into the game as the weaker side. In those cases, you're actually trying to maximise the chance that RNG plays in your favour.

In the end, we still should have won, and did enough to do so, much could have played a different tactic to give even more chances of scoring and minimise the RNG effect.

Unfortunately I think the next u21 coach will have their work cut out for them, having to play the qualification stages from the 3rd basket. Bringing teams up through the baskets, is definitely the hardest thing to do in u21s. It can take seasons to cross that hurdle, with precise planning of opposition (playing those who have ranking points in excess of their player skills), scouting, appropriate tactics, because you need to make sure to win almost every game (so can't just play the top teams), whilst also not being able to afford to lost, which against weaker teams, can mean a 50-60 point drop for 1 loss.

But the thing is we werent that much favourite. Indonesia is one of the teams of the tourney of our level (as you also can see on ratings). And last time we played them was with same tactic (in wcq) where we won 4-0.

But Yes, coming into the next matches well play more offensive

The Indonesian manager rarely change tactic. And he played the same last time too. Here you can see the outcome back then.

And i even lowered the att line cause number of offsides some time ago in the tactic

It's good to hear your train of thought.
I can see why you would go in with the same tactic given the result last time.

Maybe tweaking attack line to lower offside made it tougher - as it can also lower number of times your strikers are playing on shoulder of defenders & creating one on ones, etc. Yes, more offsides, but it can often mean clearer chances.
Strange result though as their left back was sent off around half hour mark.

The only question I can ask is: How does current NT team compare to one in previous year? If they are equal on main and sideskills, then it was back luck (or Indonesia had much better generation comparing to last year)

I haven’t counted, but how many players from both teams carried through to this season?
2026-02-16 12:37:16
Def and Mid line are much weaker, att a bit stronger
2026-02-16 12:37:55
We still made 7 offsides, and were as you say, on the shoulders of the defs. So i feel better tweaked on that part.

Seems like our next opponent Thailand has forfeited from the tournament, i sent him invite and mail, he read mail but didnt accept. Also he didnt play first match

We definitely need a few good wins before the end of the season. 114pts behind 32nd (basket 2) at present for next world cup
