:'(

i suppose that's what i get for only training australian strikers
2010-10-07 14:59:45
I reckon with that many high quality strikers, he should just share them around a bit. I'm sure they'd make the first XI of any of the A-League teams
2010-10-07 16:38:31
Those are indeed very, very nice strikers. I'd post my midfield, but that would be making it too easy for NT scouts/spies.
2010-10-08 08:18:55
Could say something similar about a few of my midfielders though they're clearly not in Tribe territory yet.

Wow!

Villafane overtakes Stewart as best MID.
2010-11-05 11:48:26
Would never have thought Villafane would overtake Stewart but there you go ;).

In other related news, good luck to both naph and tong in their champions cup matches next week. I'm sure the rest of us will be supporting your teams through however long you last :).

I'd consider myself a pretty firm favourite in the first round.

The Luxembourg champions "Holler Athletic Club" averaged in the low 40's and peaked in the mid 40's. They look to play a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 most weeks.

You're definitely a favourite.
Tong is playing someone with average individual marks for the season of 66.2 but had varied from 60.1-67.8 in the past 4 matches. Will be a tough ask, but Tong could win (it's pretty much like any of us in A-League trying to beat you naph).

Good luck with the matches, definitely hope to see you go far, and for naph, you get all that extra training for those old players of yours, definitely good for the Aus team

I hope I can pull something off. I have a bad feeling that my defenders are going to struggle a little bit against his attackers.

I have a bad feeling that my defenders are going to struggle a little bit against his attackers.

Few ways of tackling this problem. I won't say exactly what to do because they might look and read here which would end up hurting your tactic but I can offer suggestions about how you might be able to reduce the pain their strikers may cause.

Probably sounds obvious but you either need to prevent them getting the ball or have it such that you tackle them front on rather than side on or from behind. Front on, they'll find it much more difficult to get it past you.

Look at ways of preventing unnecessary crosses which hit them on the head (so throw setups should be examined).

By doing any of the above, whilst you won't guarantee stopping them, you'll at least reduce their damage. You could reduce the damage further by restricting their midfield to avoid those annoying through passes which puts a striker on goal.

There are lots of options, the problem is skill difference will always prevail and make it almost impossible to eliminate their effectiveness, but it can be reduced.

What is going on here. I have never trained this player in passing, and yet the level they are at.
