Subject: [U21] Defenders
Cheers, I think I'll do so. I'm not ready to say goodbye to him as he's not as complete as I wish him to be.
I'm only training for the NT, the fun is long gone. The only fun that's left is brining those guys to another level so they provide the best quality for the NT. So it all comes down to doing it just for the NT either way.
@adaca
Oh, you're messing with my head by saying it. Why couldn't you agree to what achmid said?! :D
To be honest, I'm not sure if he reaches SD in any of the primaries in 3 seasons just by GT.
Cheers for the assistance to both of you!

Agree he doesn't get there with GT.
For comparison, Brown who had a great talent, popped to Divine Pace right near the end of 23yo (1 training session to go).
He took 8.5 AT and 20 GT to pop to SD Pace at midway through 26 (also had approx 5 weeks of missed training due to injuries).
Now he was pushed a little due to the quality or lack of, of other defenders at the time, but you could probably remove one of those AT and add half a season of GT for him to get there at approx 27yo. (Brown received approx 3/4 level of AT and the rest GT, thus why I suggested about half a level of AT and the rest GT).
Now to compare to his defender getting from Divine to SD. Popped to Divine early 24yo. 8 AT and 8 GT (he popped quicker than the prediction by approximately 8 GT and again, I pushed him a bit due to the quality of our defenders at the time) - got to SD Def as a 25yo.
So whilst in the ideal world, he could have got just a little better if we had more depth, he still left my team as 2xSD, 12 tech, 12 play, 11 pass
And just to throw one more bit of info about how slow training gets. His Playmaker, popped to Formidable at the start of being a 27yo. It took 7 AT, 17GT and 4 formation training, just to finally pop to Outstanding as a 29yo
Looking through all his numbers, with perfectly timed training, he MAY have got to 2x SD, 13 tech, 12 play, 12 pass, although that tech level would have been a push. So not a huge difference, but still a difference (I say this because when sold he was 1 training off popping in passing, and 7 trainings off popping in tech. But he also dropped from SD pace, so I use 2AT, 2FT and 4GT to get him back up to SD pace)

No need to reach sd, rather have 17,6 and more secondaries... Either way, 17 + 5 trainings is max to give defs... Only wings and striker you train till sd before 27 yo
If you give +5 both pace and def+gts he will be close ... Close is fine .. the only reason to make it precise is for sale price .. for performance 17,7-17,9 + no wasted training is better, cause it can give 2-3 ekstra secondary pops
3rd u18 def, shaky talent (4,7-5)... Shitloads of extras, only 1 point behind 1 and 2... So certain u21, but not seniors
I expected more of a bid frenzy than that. Ross is quite similar to Peake was at this age, so I'll have similar targets for him.
Is he a def-mid or def for U21?

He has 39 points in def formula where he is 3rd u18 def, 1st and 2nd has 40 points in the Formula
As an u18 mid, he is 7th in database

DEF formula, yes, but I don't think he has the pace+def sum to be the last line of defence.
If he's top 3 on pace+def sum at 15, I'll be a little worried.
If he's top 3 on pace+def sum at 15, I'll be a little worried.
But there is no chance for mid for him, he is 7th with a shaky talent, and there are several of those over him who has insane talent, and much better skillls
If focusing on def position you also only have two skills to train.... and both pace + def has high subskills.... also we dont have many u18 defs yet..
I wrote in here his talent, to warn aussies, i see his chances slim, and if any, it is at def
