Subject: International Cup

So just for fun, I have taken a look at how the top 5 division with Australian sides went as a whole.

Div 1 - D - achmids
Div 2 - D, L - CR, chelsea
Div 3 - W, D - chile, comets
Div 4 - L, W, L - GN, MM, HH
Div 5 - W, W - cisco, stamford

I managed to miss what division TMP, cruising kings, portland, waverley lions and phils XI were when I was manuall going through the lists.

Overall
4W, 3D, 3L

Mine was an even match. They won the shoot count and we won the shot conversion count. Parko scored late to equalise and we take a point.

That keeps the group interesting. I rated highest but three teams are similar. The other game was decided by a single goal, so that should put me at an advantage if it goes to GD.

A draw or better next week will keep qualification in my hands.

No idea what my other two teams will rate in my group but the team I played outrated me by quite a bit and I wasn’t really expecting that to be the case. Was looking good first half despite coughing up an own goal and a goal off turnover. Was still able to pile on pressure and take the lead (should have extended it). 2nd half different story. I feel like there was a tactic switch though in that second half as I didn’t get anywhere near the quality of chances so I’ll need to watch that again to be sure. Form killing Greenwood though

Remember its both home and away match, so 6 match in group :)

Mine was a strong victory in a fairly weak group down in div 6-25. I'm heavy favourite to top the group. Then we'll see how the rest plays out.

Oh, then scrap everything I said. :D
There are 3 even teams in my group. Being able to play injured players helps me a lot at the moment.

can injured players play arcade?

Yeah injured and suspended can play international cup whilst it is arcade.

I’m pretty cooked now. Had my first loss overnight and I was leading for a large proportion of the match. Leaves me without a win in the first 3 matches and given other results haven’t been particularly kind to me, find myself needing to pretty much win everything to have a chance. To be fair haven’t really tried either so there’s a large upside if I could at all be bothered.

I'm pretty much in the position I would have expected at the start of the Cup.
Currently in 2nd.

I am a long way off first though as the weak team in our group played them with a 46 rated team and me with a 59 rated team, so huge GD.

Anyway, just need to keep up the good work and try to get to the knockout portion of the cup.

Well both are looking like progressing to the knockouts on current standings, though still need to get through the remaining fixtures. 64 places available in div1 so in reality just need to win the first knockout game to promote. Definitely doable.

We are discussing this elsewhere, pretty sure its just the top 16 who promote (and bottom 32 who relegate).
Meaning 3rd place, and those who do not progress past the 1st and 2nd knockout rounds, stay in the league (and if you went on odds only, not individual variability, its basically half of 1st place finishes, 2nd and 3rd place finishes, who stay in the league)

Div 2, Cup 1 - Oscar - 1st - promotion
Div 2, Cup 2 - Agbell - 2nd - maintain
Div 3, Cup 1 - Chile - 3rd - maintain
Div 3, Cup 4 - Cometer - 3rd - maintain
Div 4, Cup 4 - Fantum - 2nd - maintain
Div 4, Cup 7 - Ginger Nuts - 1st - promotion
Div 4, Cup 8 - Hadjuk - 3rd - maintain

(promotion only means one of the 50/50 favourites based on group position)

Didn't go any lower as it really takes a bunch of time to scan through a lot more leagues

Noone currently in a relegation spot and a couple in a decent position to promote, with a few more putting themselves in the knockout spots to try and promote

But we are only half way through the group phase, so much can change

64 places available in div1

Welp. Somebody who was translating those news made a huge mistake. Round of 64 =/= 1/64. Therefore only 32 slots in promotion/relegation into div1.
And since there will be 2x64 teams fighting for promotion into this league, one will need to be in final 16 of their div2 tournament to be promoted into div1.
Same principle (final 16/round of 16/ 1/8 of tournament/準準準決勝) would apply to lower division as well
