I see that you joined the game about 2 months ago so having a good coach with current low finance is fine. However, you can consider upgrading your head coach to a better level. I've done some data tracking (easily available on Sokker Viewer) about player progress when I had a head coach with lower level and then a head coach with higher level (had posted it in SK India). It will give you an idea about the difference a better head coach makes in terms of the random pops. Here it is:

Some of my interesting insights:

Head Coach: Average (26th Mar - 14th May)
[2]unsatisfactory stamina [5]average keeper
[16]unearthly pace [16]unearthly defender
[2]unsatisfactory technique [1]hopeless playmaker
[0]tragic passing [1]hopeless striker

Assistants: 2 (Both weak)
Total Weeks Training: 7
Pace Training Weeks: 5 Defending Training Weeks: 2
Total Trained Skill Pops: 15
Total Other Skill Pops: 3
Average pops/week: 2.57 (Excluded Stamina pops)

Then I got a new incredible coach with whom I trained stamina for 2 weeks. I have skipped those 2 weeks for him.

Head Coach: Incredible (4th June - 16th July)
[8]solid stamina [7]good keeper
[16]unearthly pace [16]unearthly defender
[12]outstanding technique [16]unearthly playmaker
[15]magical passing [15]magical striker

Total Weeks Training: 7
Pace Training Weeks: 4 Defending Training Weeks: 3
Total Trained Skill Pops: 17
Total Other Skill Pops: 18
Average pops/week: 5 (Excluded Stamina pops)

As you can see, an upgradation in coach from average to incredible has made a big difference in jumps in other skills. The first head coach had 2 weak assistants while the 2nd incredible coach had 0 assistants. Now, I've recently have got 3 new assistants (2 adequates and 1 good). Let's see if there's a big progress in the coming weeks.

My player count was always in the range of 18-21 and average age around 19-20. Additionally, there were 2 players who rarely got training in both cycles who we can exclude from total player range and thus the actual range could be 16-18 with 16/17 being a more accurate number.

Awesome these statistics are very good I will definetely consider doing this as would be good to get more Pops in other skills

Just as an interesting add on to see how my estimate would correlate with your data.

I assume given you were mainly pace training, you probably had 22 players.

No including stamina or GK, and taking one trained skill away, there are 5 skills.

5 x 22 = 110. over 32 weeks (I said approx 2 seasons between random pops), this comes to approx 3.5 randoms per week.

Your 2nd lot of numbers are about 2.6 random pops per week.

So this makes me fairly happy with the 2 seasons between each random pop.

Obviously there are a lot of variables, but I know you mentioned earlier you thought that was quite a long time, and that you may need to rethink your strategy, but my every 2 seasons is actually still faster than what you got in the better section of training.

Now these are rough estimates I used the first time I played the game, which was probably something like Magical Senior coach and 3x Bril Assistants (by the end I think I had Unearthly Main, and Mag/Unearthly assistants but I doubt it is what I had for the majority of my time).

Anyway enjoy the numbers :)

Oh, and because it may feel like you are a long way back, if you think I still have the same coaches, my actual coaching structure now is much more modest (Magical Head coach, exc/exc/good assistants)

Nice way to look at things.

Didn't quite understand what you said but earlier you mentioned that the 2.6 pops/week is better than the earlier hypothesis of 3.5 pops/week (random pop every 2 seasons basically). But yes, there are various other factors as well.

Oh, and because it may feel like you are a long way back, if you think I still have the same coaches, my actual coaching structure now is much more modest (Magical Head coach, exc/exc/good assistants)

Any reason why you aren't looking for better assistants?

Currently, I have the same incredible coach that I posted just now but I also have 1 excellent(bough recently) and 2 good assistants. I'm also looking for the right brilliant/magical head coach and 2 formidable assistants but I'm not getting the correct fits for my team. Either their skills are not properly distributed or their wages are too high or they just sell for high prices. Note that I'm not looking for skill distribution in my assistants as it doesn't matter, it's just for my head coach.

I'd like to get to 3x excellent but haven't spent the time looking in the trainer transfer market.

I probably won't go much higher just yet as the wage really starts to pick up momentum after that.

10k for an excellent assistant, which is 62.5% of the max you can get, seems like a pretty good, and cheap deal to me. For 3xouts (which would be 75% of max), looking at over double the cost to get that extra 12.5% training of something that is only a small multiplier anyway, and likely works on a diminishing return anyway.

Now I'd take all max if I could, just think that money is spent better elsewhere.
2020-11-07 11:16:25
Makes sense. Didn't know that excellent assistants gives 62.5% of max training.

Yeah, it depends a lot on the priorities every season. 2 categories basically, planning to win the season or planning to build a team. And then there's one more which is a mix of both.
2020-11-07 11:18:38
That's just going off if it is linear, which from everything I have ever read, I doubt it is.
10 (excellent)/16 (unearthly - max coach)

As it is more likely diminishing returns, and not just per $ spent, then it's likely even higher than 62.5%

Not in YS long enough to get a talent

Adequate

Emil Hall, age: 16, sum[14]
$
club: Achmids Soul, country: Australia,
value: 26 000 AU$, wage: 800 AU$,
very good form, tragic tactical discipline,
height: 176 cm, weight: 71.3 kg, BMI: 23.02

tragic stamina tragic keeper
weak pace tragic defender
weak technique tragic playmaker
average passing hopeless striker

Will try to sell. Would probably make a decent trainee for someone training playmaker, but would be risking it all on talent (or being able to get enough quick pops to sell off for a good profit)
