Subject: Youth players

2021-04-16 00:36:44
Too bad SK hasn't gone the way of FtP & start players aging from when they're pulled, so anytime you bring in a youth to school, they are week zero for that age.....rather than final week of season pull effectively aging a full year in a week.
2021-04-16 13:12:28
FTP also has youth pulls being from random countries unless you have plus then you can choose which country. That would also improve this game
2021-04-16 14:47:25
Agree. Something like a limit on how many per season from outside your own country could work.

Think foreign pulls will be included in the new suite of changes to eyre putting through if you sink money into the upgrades.

Will train this guy. Not the best mix of skills but solid pace/striker at 17 is good. Talent is 4.

Denis Franklin, age: 17, height: 168 cm
value: 124 800 AU$, wage: 1 840 AU$
solid form, tragic tactical discipline

tragic stamina, hopeless keeper
solid pace, poor defender
hopeless technique, very good playmaker
tragic passing, solid striker

Not bad anyway. Very unlucky with this pm but still worth a lot since we're just at the beginning of the season.
Wise choice to keep and train him on your own.

Pulled as solid. I'll check for talent later. If there is any talent then this isn't too bad a pull. Would have been better if he was 17 but he's got a full season of 18 ahead.

So talent is ~5 if he is a solid pull. If the last estimate was incorrect and he was actually very good then the talent calculates at ~4.5. There's a chance he may actually be a very good pull rather than a solid given he has a total of 29 skill points. Seems like that's fairly average (neither great nor bad).
Edit: More I look at player pulls in this thread, more I seem to think that yeah Wilsmore is likely vg and possibly a high vg. So that seems to suggest to me that the talent could be even as low as ~4 but that's just if I plugged in the final level as excellent rather than vg.

All that said and done though any advertisement I make will be at the former of solid ~5 as that's all I can confidently go off.

Liam Wilsmore, age: 18

club: The Comets, country: Australia
value : 59 200 AU$ wage: 1 120 AU$
very good [9] form tragic [0] tactical discipline
height: 178 cm, weight: 73.2 kg, BMI: 23.1

poor [3] stamina tragic [0] keeper
average [5] pace poor [3] defender
average [5] technique average [5] playmaker
unsatisfactory [2] passing adequate [6] striker

Yeah, looking at his SS29 we can surely assume he's not a solid youth but a high vg.
How many weeks at ys and what was his starting level? Coach level?

Outstanding, Talent 32/6 = 5ish

Emil Eagleton , age 20
value: 168 000 AU$ wage: 2 240 AU$
height: 177 cm, weight: 74.7 kg, BMI: 23.84

weak stamina tragic keeper
good pace poor defender
very good technique hopeless playmaker
adequate passing very good striker

Formidable, Talent 32/6 = 5ish

Steven Sandilands , age 18
value: 120 400 AU$ wage: 1 760 AU$
height: 176 cm, weight: 70 kg, BMI: 22.6

weak stamina hopeless keeper
tragic pace tragic defender
very good technique good playmaker
adequate passing adequate striker

Sandilands may bring some interest....Eagleton not so sure.
I could give some pace training to both, but inclination is to sell this weekend.
Brilliant Youth Coach

15 weeks, came in as average (5) with a formidable (11) youth coach

5-6-6-7-5-6-6-8-7-7-8-8-9-7-8-8 is the detailed progression week to week (noting the 5 was the Saturday he entered the school and the rest is Thursday updates).

Looks like talent 5 to me, not sure if worth sacrificing a training spot.
Have you considered getting a better coach maybe? There are not so big differences between salaries.
From all the 'studies' (made by polish 'scholars' :P) of a huge amount of graduates to create some reliable statistics about youths' talents, it was proven that it is not worth to have a ys with a coach leveled low than incredible [13]. Having a formidable [11] one you reduce your chances of pulling a junior with a talent higher than 5 to like 5%. Add a decent skill distribution, age and a right time of the season, and you get what? Maybe 1 decent pull out of 200 tries.

Let's take a look at the most optimistic scenario:
16yo, talent 4.5, 24 weeks, starting good [7] -> 7 pops, age +2 -> 18yo brilliant [14]

That's the best you can get, if you're lucky. Imagine how hard it would be for you when even with a magical [15] coach I've pulled just 3 brilliant [14] ones and not even one higher than that in 14 years of my adventure here!

Just saying :P

agree, still formidable coach can be improved with low extra cost. Specially in a "small" community where juniors need to be the best quality.

Check scotland, few users and they are 17 in U21 rank
2021-04-22 16:23:35
Try going from brilliant (14) to magical (15)....proving to be a nightmare for me. :(
2021-04-22 16:33:07
magical is already expensive. If economy doesnt support magic coach, go for brilliant, but keep as most juniors as possible.

Sure but I haven’t been able to afford anything above formidable to date. I probably can now that I’ve promoted. This is the thing we continuously argue about in forums in that in small countries you don’t get much money at all in terms of sponsorship and you also don’t get much in gate receipts either due to playing bots. Then every time a new user comes to the game and ends in your league your sponsorship drops further. On top of that to get that incredible you either roll and hope to get lucky with rng (that costs $) or you try and get one off the trainers list where you compete against others who get more $ then you do even though they’ve just started and so you’re lucky if you ever end up with any from that method. Formidable was the best I could afford at the time. My entire coaching roster will be upgraded this season since I’ve now got more money to play with.

I’m in the market for a local young mid trainee with cracking talent.
