Very nice coin, congrats! What's even more interesting, a friend of mine decided to get him for himself. He has great coaches there, so there are absolutely no worries about his development.

Oscar almost got him, but got outbid in the last minutes. More than I thought I'd get but not complaining. Hope he goes on to be a NT asset.

Like I say to newbies, it's worth a youth school for the long haul. Most of my defensive 4 (x2) comes from my YS & Collina as well. Even if it's 1/10 seasons for a Boyd, this all adds up to a plus for having a YS with decent coach.

I fully agree, so long as you’re monitoring it and constantly re-assessing whether someone is worth keeping. I think I’m ahead financially too from having a ys as I’ve got both Crampton and Greenwood as trainees and each of them probably could have sold for similar amounts as Boyd had I sold them. The other incentive for a youth school properly managed is that it is the only way to improve our NTs, there is no other way to do that. That may then feed into things like Champions Cup spots as well in the longer term.

Ow on being hit with stamina. At least they weren’t super talented and therefore destroyed by it.

These days I'm happy with anyone in the 5s for talent or better.

Ponting is such a mix and match player. At 19, I'd say he is too weirdly distributed to go anywhere
