Groups are more equal than 2 season ago...

I have been sk mailed by the Brazilian user pdt,(Admin) he produces a weekly newspaper about sokker and this week he's asked me a few questions about the WC and Scotland's chances, he may have done this with all WC entered teams or just some, i dont know.
The publication though is done in Portugese so i thought that i would just share the interview with you all here.

How do you analyze the group your team will play in this World Cup (WC)?

"Scotland will find it tough with our 3 opponents all being ranked in the top 15
USA (15)
Eesti (6)
Italia (2)
However it is good for us that we face the USA first and the two stronger Nations will also face each other first, this will give Scotland the best possible chance to get a good start in the WC campaign"


Which are the real chances of your team in the WC? Do you believe in some surprise?

"I honestly believe that we can pick up points from this group, but enough to qualify for the next stage? who knows? We know only too well from our qualifying campaign that the weaker teams can cause a shock in one off matches as we ourselves lost crucial points to the so called underdogs. If Scotland can get the tactics right and keep our best players injury free and on form then we will have a fighting chance, as for surprises, we hope that it is Scotland surprising the Sokker world but in reality i have been very impressed with the Belgium NT and feel that they could push Poland all the way this year"



Which is your preferred tatics to a match against a weaker national team? And against a stronger one?

"Tactics will be changed to suit our opponents, weak or strong.Regardless of strength i will always try to mark the opposition`s dangerous players whilst attempting to create space for our offensive players to use, whether we use wide men or play through the middle depends on the opposition, again, weak or strong it doesn`t matter."

Which is the best player you have in the squad? And which is the weak point of the team?

"Scotland have two fantastic defenders in our NT, Steven and Gary MacInness (brothers i believe) :) however the player that i`m expecting the most from is our striker Adam Rodgers, Adam missed the majority of our qualification campaign due to injury so i am really looking forward to seeing him perform at the WC finals. Adam was actually a player in my starting team when i first joined sokker and i trained him up for 6 seasons so maybe i am slightly biased!"

Could you tell me the starting eleven of your team in WC? ;)

"Honestly, i do not even know that myself yet, with a league and cup/friendly match still to come before the WC kicks off then i am just praying that i have a fully fit squad to chose from.

I can say however that against the USA , managed by the uber weak Englishman Mr_Gibbage that we will play a 3-4-3 formation"
