Ok, Scotland v Italy round 2

Players out

O'Neill - injured
MacFarlane - suspended.

Italy also have a first choice defender out through suspension.

Despite already beating Italy in this WC i'm under no illusions of the size of the task ahead and i'm expecting an extremely tough match. If anything, Italy probably underestimated us a bit last time and may well be better prepared for us this time around.
Kick off tomorrow is 12.00 sk time.

I'm disappointed...you deserved to go through in this WC but the Drawing system has something wrong...
We'll try to go as far as we can, just to bring even the Scottish name in this WC

Congrats on the win, Italy were the best team today and Scotland created very little.

I tried to keep Gioia quiet by putting McColligan on him but it turned out that Gioia kept Mccolligan quiet!

A few dissapointing performances today but that was largely down to Italy getting their tactics spot on while i was hoping to surprise with 2 strikers, thus taking out a central mid, a mistake in hindsight.

Any questions or critisism's i'll answer tomorrow evening as i'm off out soon and wont be back untill then, i'm not hiding honest :)

You'll get not a shred of blame from me. Excellent job on the whole.

Italy are a quality team, so no disgrace loosing to them.

Good job Reekie, in taking Scotland this far.

Unlucky Ally, you have done a fantastic job this WC.

Yeah, I'd also like to say a massive well done.

Disappointing to lose in the first knock out stage but c'est la vie.

Fantastic job to get the results we got........the 100% record in the last group obviously being the highlight.

Nice one :)

Thanks guys.

The sad thing for me was going out to a team who we had previously beaten but on the upside we did manage to spring a few surprises and got further than anybody expected us too.

On the future, a few of the older guys will still be good enough to feature as first team regulars for a couple of seasons or so and others like Lappin and Macfarlane are still being trained and improving which can only make us stronger.
McDermott has suffered with dreadful form lately which is a shame as he's so close to taking Rodgers spot as the number 1 striker and guys like O'neill and my own Gemmill will be trying to claim that distinction in the not so distant future so we're looking good and looking likely for a number 2 seeding for the WC qualifiers next season.

All the big boys get a well deserved break now as the spotlight focus's on the u21's.

New competition, New challenge.

well done reekie!

you certainly got the sokker community talking about scotland :D

hope you can steer our U21 side to similar success :D

Well done ,we are a very small nation of users compared to other countries if we had say double the users i bet we could have won,so take it as a morale victory ally.
