Subject: Recruitment Drive

rtg [del] to All
Yes its that time again. Its been a wee while since we done this on sokker.

Today i have advertised on HT in about 5 forums/feds. I have also placed a little ad in the Tartan Armys web boards, however i shall bump that nearer the holland game as thats when the board will become more active.

Do any of you have any ideas OR can you advertise in any forums you are currently members of?

Right now our numbers are....

Number of users: 92
Number logged-in: 6
Number awaiting: 2

ooooo number awaiting has actually already gone up.

IF we even manage to keep just one team from this drive it is a success in my eyes.

What say thee?

Good Work.

I think the last time that we had a recruitment drive we doubled our userbase, but it was the keeping them here that was the problem.

Hopefully the new look site and the welcome mails will be enough to add a few more long term this time round.

rtg and I both believe a recruitment drive is long overude to boost our community. I think rtg is well placed as he has good hattrick contacts, which has a much large userbase than us sokker dudes.

Will be trying to keep in touch with the sokker userbase, especially newbies or attempting to communicate with our 'quite' users.

We will want to inlist the help of others with that too.

another 2 in. My main message on non-ht scotland got deleted. I expected it to be so but put it on anyway - at least an hour is better than nothing. So its down to the feds im in. I have another fed slot available so will need to select a good one and advertise in there :D

I didnt know they'd banned advertising other games on non-HT confs. Not that I'm surprised. Part of HT's continuing popularity is that people don't know that its 2 generations behind the likes of sokker and managerzone. Makes business sense for them to keep it that way I guess.

ok we now have 5 waiting. How long does it take for these 4 from yesterday to be accepted? I can now see a major issue with signup process.
2009-01-09 13:36:23
will ask an admin to accept them :)

Send a sk mail with
his nick
his team name
his registration adress
his name

I'll pass it to an admin then if he has subscribed :)

Slightly off-topic but still related to user base. There is nobody above us in the world rankings with a smaller userbase. The closest I could see were a few with close to 300 - still 3x bigger.

I think that means we're officially the best little country in sokker. :P

The Kiwi's are 31st with just 24 managers though... thats pretty impressive.
2009-01-10 14:11:09
The kiwi's are starting to struggle a bit sadly, like us they had a great WC 2 seasons ago but have failed to raise their numbers and many have left, even Barhilo hasn't been around for a while and is in danger of losing his team (unless he's set holiday mode) They haven't got as yet any serious candidate for their NT either and Seca isn't running again. Sad.

Anyway, 2 more on the list for us, 1 more to reach the 100 again.

General info:
Currency: £
Number of leagues: 21
Association: Scotland Association
Number of users: 97
Number logged-in: 3
Number awaiting: 2
Number of teams: 170

I think we are the most efficient Nation in sokker. If you take off the inactive users off our numbers we'd have half that again probably.

What makes us tick is we have 10 experienced users or so who are dedicated to train Scottish Internationals. We have some good users coming through who will hopefully produce some new Internationals soon.

Hi everyone, I've been playing... well I made a team, set team training watched my money dissapear. lost loads and thought I don't have a clue about this game... nor do I feel I want to learn...

So I balanced my finances... and unlike any of the other management games, I have yet to see a significant benefit from my training.... I have a whole team of junk players...

However I do have profit week in and out... meaning... I may be useful..

I just dont get tactics etc...
2009-01-11 23:42:02
There is a huge benifit from training. Needs to be significant training for the long term.

It will improve your team greatly and you'll be able to sell off some players for profit when required.

Tactics are all about getting the best out of the players you have and/or setting up your team to cause the opposition maximum pain.
2009-01-12 08:39:33
Show us your head coach and tell us what you are training, maybe we can help.

Tactics are a bit like real life, dont play a back 3 for example if you expect your opponent to use wingers, you have to mark them. Also look at their defence, try and place your strikers where they can get maximum space.

Here's a clip of how to set a tactic, http://www.youtube.com/v/jhN7i8tRHMg

In the film he only sets up his defence whilst moving the ball through 4 squares, to make it properly you will need to adjust every player whilsrt moving the ball through every square.
