Its annoying mate, he just continually pops then plops
2010-07-07 10:16:38
its not annoying its fine, leave him be keep calm ;) I have 2 policies dealing with the junior school.
If they are going to be 20 by the time they get out they are sacked (no matter what the starting value is). Only keep lower talents to either fill your team so you can play or if they are going to be 16 when they come out.

Matthew MacMillan, Age:17, Skill level: adequate, Formation: outfield, weeks: 1, Est. age: 17
Euan Nicholson, Age:19, Skill level: very good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 1, Est. age: 19
Bobby Swanson, Age:19, Skill level: outstanding, Formation: outfield, weeks: 1, Est. age: 19
Gary Lorne, Age:18, Skill level: formidable, Formation: outfield, weeks: 3, Est. age: 18
Al McGhee, Age:16, Skill level: solid, Formation: outfield, weeks: 8, Est. age: 17
Thomas Cockburn, Age:18, Skill level: very good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 8, Est. age: 19
Alasdair Haig, Age:17, Skill level: average, Formation: outfield, weeks: 8, Est. age: 18
Keith Comrie, Age:16, Skill level: good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 8, Est. age: 17
Iain Miller, Age:16, Skill level: good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 14, Est. age: 17
John Craig, Age:18, Skill level: good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 17, Est. age: 19
Archibald Austin, Age:16, Skill level: good, Formation: outfield, weeks: 20, Est. age: 18
Archibald MacMaster, Age:17, Skill level: adequate, Formation: outfield, weeks: 24, Est. age: 19
Ally Burk, Age:16, Skill level: adequate, Formation: outfield, weeks: 29, Est. age: 18

I'm calm mate lol, just baffled by this system. I can't get my head round it at all
2010-07-07 10:30:44
i just ignore the plops and celebrate the pops :)
2010-07-24 11:48:16
I had 6 spaces free for 6 16 y/o week 1 entries.

I got 1 :)

Douglas MacKeggie 16 adequate outfield 20

2 other juniors came in who I sacked.

I'm not liking this new juniors system one bit. Will they improve if I join the juniors league? (Only just got enough juniors to enter now.)

edit: Course I only have an excellent coach at this stage, that doesn't help much I suppose.

yes mate "apparently" the more time they play the better the coaches evaluation on them.
2010-08-16 10:15:14
Evaluation improves but the juniors dont improve their skills any faster.
Talking of youths...I haven't had anything decent for longer than i can remember and the next promising player looks to be Reece Morton who potentially could reach unearthly if his current trend continues but he'll be 20 and halfway through next season.

The rest are looking like lost causes...

yup my juniours are pretty guff as well and have been for a good few seasons (even before the changes)
2010-09-18 09:22:30
out of 6 possible places i got one in

tragic 4 weeks - FIRED! this system is driving me mental. im paying for an unearthly coach to train a bunch of garbage

hmmm now that i wrote that i have just realised that since having an unearthly coach i havent had a junior come out of the system above formidable. I think thats been nearly 2 seasons of rubbish possibly even 3

Its stupid, i had to sack 5/6 of the juniors i had today. They were all either tragic, hopeless or unsatisfactory. I kept a 16yr old weak GK who comes out in 4 weeks but this is rediculous.
2010-09-20 09:15:41
Fingers crossed, a 16 yr old solid (19weeks) just entered last influx.
2010-09-20 09:17:31
So anyway, why was it changed? Too many players coming into the game? Long term this has to have an affect on the transfer market too, increasing prices as decent youths become scarcer. What are the aims of the new system? Apart from pisssing off all the users?
2010-09-20 10:58:58
GK, I think greg was peeved off that good qualiy obviously and easily provable talented youths were selling for more than players who had been trained for a number of seasons.

He saw that as wrong, I see why. Not convinced his fix is the best solution but Im sure he wanted youths to be less obvious with their talent. Probably to encourage more users to train there own promising youths first to check they are actually top talents, then either sell or keep. Instead of cashing in straight away. Which is a decent aim, I think the ups and downs in the talent graphs have been smoothed. I'm not where the correct balance is.
