Subject: The Great Injury Race

2009-04-08 22:09:39
2 in tonights friendly (36 days combined) takes me to 12, a lot of 20+ injuries this season, 50% of which seem to be trainees. :(

On the subject of injuries - is there a reason why most teams only list the starting XI with no subs in friendlies?

I just put a full squad out, and have had a few injuries in friendlies. Could I have prevented them?

nah its mainly that you dont want your main players playing twice and increasing the chance of an injury to them

By listing no subs then there's no chance of losing training for certain players.

Example, Sunday you train 3 strikers. Wednesday you get two mids injured but only have one mid sub. On comes your star striker for 10 mins general training as a mid, undoing his 90 minutes from Sunday. Other combo's aswell ofcourse but generally it just avoids the possibility of losing training.

Many people dont care about losing friendlies focusing on getting training instead, not much impact in supporter mood etc makes it worthwhile to concentrate on training.
